Question about Yamaha RX-V3800 Receiver
Having a hell of a time programming this remote. I've followed there directions over and over and works intermittently. I now have the cd player working , but there's still a problem. i can scan through a disc with fast forward or rewind, but am unable to skip songs. if anyone has the scoop on programming this thing, i'd appreciate it. A.J.
I assume you were just entering manufacture codes. Some times this won't give you all the features you're looking for (like skipping tracks). Try going through the manual to assign buttons a particular function. It's a learning remote so it can learn from your other remotes by putting the two facing one another and going through the necessary button sequence laid out in the yamaha manual (page 104 in the RX-V1800 manual, it's in the advanced operation section)
CAUTION: All buttons are reprogrammable so make sure you have your source slider (on the right side of the remote) set to Source and not AMP or you'll overwrite the Amp functions and you'll have to reset the remote to factory settings and start over.
