Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a 65 inch hdtv projection tv model# ws65615 . I'm having a problem when I hit the DEVICE or AUDIO/VIDEO buttons on the remote OR the tv control buttons. The tv does'nt respond to those commands. Instead the tv shuts off after about thirty seconds later and then the green power button starts blinking. I have to reset it to turn it on again. once i turn it on I can use any command buttons on the remote or tv buttons. all the buttons work fine, except when I hit the DEVICE OR AUDIO/VIDEO buttons. then the tv shuts off again. In other words I cannot watch any other devices on the tv because the DEVICE OR AUDIO/VIDEO buttons get no response. Can you help? Thanks, Wayne

I have a Mitsubishi WS-65513 65 in. rear projection HDTV. I recently hooked up a DVD player to the Component 2 cable inputs but I cannot find the Component 2 selection on the 'Device menu' to tell the TV...

If one or more of the inputs is "missing" or not there you may need to do a hard reset of the TV with the original remote.

If you want to try this confirm the actual model number and I will tell you how to do it.

65 inch tv turned on and volumn went all the way high remote does not work also can't change devices

Make sure the button either on the remote is not depressed all the time or on the front of the television!! This will be the main reason that the volume is going to MAX all the time. Usually if you press any button on the tv or remote and hold it down such as you mentioned, it will lockup the microprocessor to that function specificly and it won't take anyother instructions until you unstick the button or get it to stop going all the way UP!
Try that and let me know if i solved your problem.. God luck from the TV GURU

No sound

A DVI cable does not have an audio connection, along with the DVI you still have to run an audio line from the device (DVD player, cable box, satellite receiver) to the TV. HDMI contains both audio and video.

Device Menu not working

Could have a stuck button or a corrupt e-prom, but lets try kicking this set in the head, Now these reset codes are model dependent so this code will not work for every set out there but this reset is for the WD-62525. with the set on and with the original TV remote hit the keys in this sequence, MENU-2-4-7-0 this will bring up a service menu, the cruiser should already be on "Initialize" so simply hit enter. this will reset the TV to factory defaults and may fix your problem

REMOTE LOCKED

On most television remotes, there are buttons to control other units. If these buttons are hit by accident, then the remote acts like you described. Look at the top of the remote and find the button that says TV. Push it and it should start working normal. Since I'm not at my shop, I don't know the exact button or names. If this doesn't work, respond to this post and I will reply when I have a schematic in front of me.
