Soundcard not working

Make changes in the BIOs regarding the Motherboard options. You can elect to disconnect the on board sound system and it will cancel out that portion, leaving all else in place.

No conection from board to speaker

Make sure the sound card is seated properly in its slot. Always make sure the power cord has been pulled out and you have touched something metal to dissipate static electricity. Check the connector from the sound card to the motherboard. Check the green speaker wire going to the jacks on the soundcard. Hopefully your soundcard didn't die, good luck.

How can i install audio without using a CD audio installation?

Is this a ON-BOARD soundcard, meaning it came with the motherboard? or is it a aftermarket PCI or similar sound card added in later?

if it is a on-board soundcard, get your motherboard details (get this by opening panel on computer and look for markings on motherboard) and then go to the manufacturers website, go to the support tab and search for your motherboard model and you can get the driver as a free download.

same can be said for and after-market soundcard..grab details and checkout manufacturers website. there you can dowload the appropriate drivers!

hope this helps,ben!

Sound driver for my intel mboard D946DZAB

1. Visit the Intel site at from there you should be able to download the driver for your soundcard
2. If not your driver may be archived and you will have to contact tech support or customer support to have them send you the installation disk.
3. Another solution is to purchase another soundcard and install it with new drivers for the new soundcard.
Most computers will disable the on board soundcard and direct sound to the new soundcard

My Matsonic MS 8157E motherboard has a built in Soundcard, but it does not work anymore, I tried to install a PCI soundcard, but no mather what I try to disengage the built in soundcard, I have no luck,...

There must be a place in your BIOS where you can disable the on-board sound. Navigate to each screen using your arrow keys, <enter> key and find the on-board sound feature. With it highlighted, use the [+] to change it from "enabled" to "disabled". Press F10 (or follow the on screen instructions for saving) and reboot.

Then try installing your PCI sound card. Install it in the slot first, then when prompted by your OS, load the software that came with the device.
