Question about GE Spacemaker JVM1640SJ Microwave Oven
The display is all asteriks and none of the buttons work. The fuse is OK but don't know what else to check. This happened when an electrician was putting in a new subpanel to our main box downstairs. None of the other appliances were affected.
This may seem strange but my microwave ended up doing the same thing..the solution courtesy of another website pointed toward RF interference from that faulty magnetron ge is famous for...what cure it was piece of the static paper used to protect computer parts..check it out by opening the side panel and leaning it away from the magnetron.mind started up immediately no problem ..got a piect of the static paper, fashioned it to fit...and problem solved
