Question about Bosch Washing Machines
We'he had a Bosch Exxcel 1400 Express for 3 years.
What looks like oil has built up inside the door's rubber seal. The machine has started to smell. Boil washes and cleaning with various specialist cleaners has not managed to get rid of it.
We've had it for 3 years. We had a Hotpoint for 14 years and never had this problem, and we bought a Bosch thinking it would be top quality.
We're confused as to where the oil is coming from... is it from the clothes ? This seems unlikely, we're not car mechanics... we work with computers. Is it coming from inside the machine itself ?
We would be grateful for any suggestions.
It is not oil, but a build up of grease and living bacteria, caused by doing too many low temp washes.
The only permanent solution is to replace the door seal, and at least once a month, do a hot boil wash without clothes in, but with powder or detergent in as normal.
This is called a maintenance wash, and is now recommended by all manufactuers.
Please rate my solution.
