Question about Lexmark X3550 All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

Paper jammed part way

When printing, the paper goes about 1/2 way, and then scrunches in the center of the paper and then wont go any further. Then it says paper jammed, but really the paper never even got far enough in to be printed on.

Why is the paper on my printer going through the back and coming out instead of printing?

there is a rear door on this printer if it is removed while clearing a paper jam and not placed back after the paper jam is fixed it would push paper straight out the back of the printer. It could have a paper jam also at the rear of the printer. Recommend checking rear door of printer and also check at this location if paper is scrunched up and causing a jam.

Each time the printer goes to print the paper

Either you have a problem with the fuser itself, such as a drive gear problem where the fuser is not turning or the is toner buildup on the fuser entrance plate. The toner buildup is a common problem so I would check that first. The fuser is easy to remove and you just beed to flip it over and look closely at the plates that "guide" the paper into the fuser rollers. Look for any small globs of melted toner that the paper is hitting when it tries to enter the fuser. If you let it cool down first then the toner can usually be chipped away and scraped clean. Then just reinstall.
Good Luck.

While printing, paper jams. the sheet pulls through initially, but then while printing, the paper scrunches up and the cartridge jams.

It is likely that there is a small piece of torn paper inside that is causing the paper to bunch up. Try a can of compressed air to clean out the interior and trace through the route the paper takes. Look for anything the paper could get stuck on.

Good Luck!

Paper jam on canon pixma mp600

Hi You can Try

Error Code 5100
Solution 1:
Clean the timing strip.

Solution 2:
The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .

Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.

Paper Jam at exit

This happened with an old HP Laserjet 1100A of mine.
I had apparently dropped a screw in the paper-out slot and it was jamming the paper on just one spot.

As you know, the entire sheet is connected, so It is most likely a similar situation in which a previous jam has left a small wad of paper under one of the rollers, and this is preventing the paper from exiting the slot.
Best bet, print something and see where the paper is scrunching up. This is most likely the roller that has the paper stuck under it. Remove the toner block and blast some compressed air into the spot the jam is most likely originating and see if anything else flys out.
Also, if that does not work, you might try manually rotating the rollers backwards, which will often eject the lodged paper chunk.
Note- Please be careful inside the printer! Do not touch the bright green drum, or anything that dosen't look like it is rubber and rolls paper around!
It is very easy to mess things up in there ;)
