SOURCE: Can you lube a shredder?

Yes you can lube a shredder. The larger one require lube of the cutter blades pretty simple just oil in where the paper goes. Smaller ones generally don't mention lubrication because they are considered throw away.

Do you need both lub. sheets & lub. oil for a shreeder ?

I would suggest something light like sewing machine oil. Vegetable oil is likely to go sticky.

What kind of lubrication oil for paper shredders

Mineral oil is probably the best choice. You can also use "Paper Shredder Oil" which is probably the same thing but for more $$. Vegitable oil generally works well for lubing things, but have never tried it on a shredder.

Use of Mineral oil or Vegetable oil for shredder?

Hi I am a shredder technician. Though it is not recommended you can use either as long as they dont gum up the machine over time. As this will cause you major problems. please leave feedback . Have a nice day. And good luck

How do I lubricate my NoviTech shredder?

If you prefer the convenience and don't mind the extra cost, you can buy shredder lubricant sheets at an office supply store and follow the directions on the package.

Or for a far less expensive method, buy a bottle of generic mineral oil (or baby oil) in the drug store. Spread 1/2 tsp of the oil onto a piece of letter size scrap paper, and run the oiled paper through the shredder. Then run the shredder in reverse for a few seconds and in forward for a few more seconds to spread the oil over the shredding cylinders. That's it.

We the multi-functional mixer attachments but now unable to get shredder to attach correctly

Remove the shaft an cutter first and install the outside case of the shredder. Tighten thumb screw. You may have to lift up on a lever that runs in a groove in the shaft to remove the shaft.

Next install the shaft with cutter attached. Lube the shaft with tiny bit of mineral oil or food safe grease. Lift the lever mentioned above and rotate till the shaft seats and then drop the lever and make sure it is engaged.

Looking for a manual on a Fellowes 220 Powershred Strip-Cut Shredder, specifically how to oil it and clean the sensors, etc.

There are no spare manuals or parts,

Blow canned air down into the feed slot, then lube with Marvel Oil generously..

Shredder sounds like dry rubbing when in use.

No do not use WD-40.

They make shredder lube. It is a thick silicon type oil. I would just google shredder lube and I'am sure you will find what you need.

Good Luck
