Question about Kyocera 126C Cellular Phone
I loaned my Kyocera 126C to my adult son. When I got it back, something was weird about it. It only works when plugged in to an outlet. As soon as I unplug it, I get a message, "Battery low. Powering off." The battery can't store a charge, I guess, is what that means. Not sure, though. I'm kind of tech-illiterate. So, could this be resolved by a new battery, or what? Another son said perhaps I should just buy a new Kyocera, and switch batteries. But, are they always interchangeable like that?
Hi most phone battries of the same model are interchangeable , and you are correct your battery is the problem I think .
A rechargeable battery has a life expectancy ( each dependant on type and model ) of say 2,000 hours give or take most survive for much longer , and they have a type of memory that tells them how long they have been charged , one way to increase the life of them is to power them down completely and recharge from empty sometimes it works sometimes not depending on the stae of the battery .. A new battery for your phone would be available of the internet for far less than you would pay at a retail outlet , and as your son said a new phone would take the swapping of batteries providing it was the same exact model . Check out Amazon and Ebay I am sure you will find something to suit you ,. Reagrds Vortash
