D-Link DFM-562IS HSFi Dial-up modem brings system out of stanby

Hello,

I have a D-Link DFM-562IS HSFi 56K Dial-up modem that brings my computer out of standby when the phone rings. I made these changes for solving this problem:

1) in Control Panel>Phone and Modem Options>Power Management Tab.
I unchecked the “Allow this device to bring the Computer out of Standby”.

2) in the BIOS, under the Power Management, I disabled the “ModemRingOn”. But they did not make any difference and that modem brings my computer out of standby.

My system summary:
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 build 2600 (32-bit),

Motherboard Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
Motherboard model: GA-8S661FXMP-RZ
BIOS Manufacturer: Award Software International, Inc.
BIOS Version: F2
BIOS Release Date: 02/25/2005

    Hi,
    Thanks for your response, I disabled the "sleep and hibernation option". but it DID NOT solve my problem.
    Could please suggest another way?

    I Do Not want the telephone ring brings my computer out of standby.
    what should i do?
    I recently do these steps:

Simply disable the sleep and hibernation option in the desktop(right-click) to bring up the window/submenu and on the screensver tab, appears a power button to manage sleep & hibernation. Keep both these select--- never---,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,sodeep

    How to make modem to autoanswer







    If
    the software that you are using with the modem does not have the
    ability to set the modem to autoanswer you will need to configure the
    modem manually. You will have to use Hyperterminal to enter the command
    into the modem's memory.
    (if you do not have Hyperterminal
    installed please add it by going to Control Panel > Add/Remove
    Programs > Windows Setup > Communications > Details...)

    Have the modem connected to your computer and ensure that it is working fine. Go to:
    Start
    > Programs > Accessories > [Communications] > Hyperterminal
    .... Hyperterm.exe > name the connection "modem" > Connect
    Using... Select COM3 or COM4 (on whichever port the modem was assigned
    to) > Bits per second 9600 > OK.
    After that try typing ATZ
    command and press ENTER (you may not see what you are typing). The
    response from the modem should be OK.
    Apply the following command:

    ATS0=3

    Now write the new settings into the modem's memory by typing the following command and pressing Enter:

    AT&W

    The response should be "OK"
    The modem will now be set to auto-answer after 3 rings.To check whether the modem is working, try the following:

    In Windows XP/2000:
    Go
    to Start > Control Panel > Phone and Modem Options > Modems
    > select your modem > Properties > Diagnostics. Click on Query
    Modem button.

    In Windows 95/98/ME:
    Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Modems > Diagnostics tab
    You should see a new modem installed on one of the COM ports (eg. COM3).
    Select the COM port with your modem, Click on "More Info..." button.

    After a while, you will see a window with the response from the modem.
    If
    you are getting "Port already opened" message, you need to disable
    software which may use the COM port of the modem (e.g. faxing software)
    and reboot computer. If you are getting an error about modem not
    responding, try to reinstall the modem's driver.This is the best place to post this problem since its closely linked to the modem, see this link too:

Disconnect the telephone-cable from the computer's modem.
Does your telephone regain the dial-tone?

If so, then replace the computer's modem -- it is going "off-hook" as soon as you turn on the computer, not just when you try to use the modem to open a dial-up session.

My sound card from computer is needed to be reinstall,the model is DFM-5621S HSFi.but my problem is it is'nt working


Can you check the device manager for sound setting as well for simple things are overlooked ,as in sound on Pc muted
or device diabled
Its easy to overlook these but usually a deivce installed on Xp or higher is almost instantly found then its up to you to go to device managee look for any setting that are stopping the deive form producing sound
then go to tech routine of removing reinstaling device drivers

Problem Installing D-Link DFM-562IS


reboot and press F8 and run safe Mode and uninstal driver and see if u can install an new driver.

Need driver


Its just one generic driver for both XP and Vista. Vista should have an innate driver already, which you can use for this modem. Or else you can download this:
http://www.driver-download.net/d-link-systems/modems/dfm-5621-s/

There is no separate Vista drivers for this 56k modem..
