You probably need a new power source. Take it to you repair shop. That's what I had to do and it was relatively inexpensive.

Thanks for the suggestions. I had same symptoms and it turned out to be fuse f3 on the mainboard, this fuse is on the top right near fuse f1.

Plasma and LCD TV sets are prone to having capacitors in the power supply section fail. This is the most likely cause for the probem you describe. When capacitors fail your will commonly see one or more of the following symptoms.

  • No video, Power light is on or blinking.
  • TV is making a clicking noise.
  • TV takes a while to come on
  • Screen is very dim or flickers.

Again, You can get a power supply repair kit with the parts, detailed instructions, and support from sites such as . Or just click here to see more details on their kit.

Here are pictures of capacitors...Notice that the ones below look bloated. They have failed and will need to be repalced.

Capacitor being replaced! Fairly easy DIY fix.

Sony Bravia KDL-55nx720 My tv is stuck in standby mode. Blinking twice.. Would replacing the power supply possibly fix this problem? Please help.

Normally yes. Blinking twice is power protection trip. Look first for open resistor, broken fuses (and short circuits or broken transistors / ICS if thats the case).

Power supply card PLHL-T722A, 2300KEG033A-F, had a blown fuse F101 (T1AH250VP). Replaced fuse with T1AL250V. Plugged tv into wall, and resistor R5 lit up and started smoking. Thus pulled plug out...

We sell a repair kit for this board, which has the fuse, resistor and the IC that usually fails along with them.

You can find it at .

I've seen that board fail in at least three different ways, though, and this is the least bothersome of them.

We offer a repair service and have about 90% success even with burned boards. You don't pay any service fees if we can't fix the board.

Finally, when available we also sell boards ready for use with a trade-in option. That ends up a little more costly than a repair, though.

I have a Sony Bravia LCD tv an it won't turn on at all the standby light is not even there I've tried turning on an off and leaving unplugged for an hour still nothing.? Help,

You either have a problem with your power supply board or main board. I would start with having the power supply fuse checked as well as the power supply board!

I replaced an apparent blown fuse, TV still won't power on.

Most likely your power supply is damaged and will need to be replaced. Sometimes, power supply manufacturers add additional "fusible resistors" to provide additional protection.

My Telefunken 42" Full HD

The problem might be on your power supply.

1. Check the power supply it is located on where the plug is connected on the main board.
2. Use a multimeter it must be on AC function, to check the AC supply
sometimes the problem is just on the plug
3. Then if there is an AC supply on your plug then check the power supply
4. Check for busted fuse (usually has no reading on multimeter on diode test)
replace same type of fuse.
5. If the fuse are good check for open resistor or shorted transistors.
always replace same rating of resistor and transistors (same on number and type)
IF the problem still exist just contact me.

Hope this may help you..

The TV doesn't power on. I've changed the fuse and when mains power is switched on the TV makes a noise as though power is getting through. Pressing the standby on the remote has no effect -...

The problem might be on your power supply section.

1. Check for open resistor or maybe a shorted transistor. Use a multimeter
2. Also check for a leak capacitor

Is the fuse you replace is still o.k? at times the blown fuse indicates that there is a short circuit on your t.v. Maybe the noise you hear is also because of a short circuit. Be careful in replacing fuse, always replace same type for the protection of you t.v

Hope this may help you

I have a sharp lc-19dv27ut tv that is 110 volt. My daughter plugged it into a 220 plug (with the adapter on the end of the power supply cord) but without the voltage converter. She said nothing happened...

Sometimes replacing the fuse alone fix the problem, you can buy it at your local electronics supply,it is cheaper than the next parts i'm going to explain. However if you replaced the fuse and nothing happen then you might have an open fusible resistor. This resistor is lined with b+ to the voltage regulator. If open then you have to replaced them both together with the voltage regulator.

Thanks for using fixya.

There is power at the wall plug, but there is no power to TV. Does the TV have a cirrcuit braker

Most tvs have a fuse or a resistor that acts like a fuse. To find it, you will need to open up the back of the TV and remove the shielding. Then look at the boards. A fuse will be obvious (short tube of glass with silver ends); the resistor may be gone and you might see the scorch marks and smell smoke instead.

I hope this helps.

TLX-03210B blanks out, audio works, with some smoke as well

Open the cover and look for the burned componet.Usually it must be a condenser. Rarely a resistor. If it is a condenser just replace it with the similar one. Note the polarity while replacing. If it is resistor need to check the associated circuit for over load. If you not sound in electronics reffer to an expert.
