By special edition I mean the 007/Casino Royale content which was pre-loaded onto the phone.

Try using Sony Ericssons software update utility to update the firmware or reinstall the existing firmware...

Its available at the Sony Ericsson website, unfortunately the K800 does have quite a few software bugs, white screen of death, black screen, red blinking light, etc...

Please note doing this will delete anything saved on the phone, if you can try using the Mass Storage mode to backup items like images... also if the phone was flash patch unlocked then it will need to be unlocked again

Whats special or limited edition about it? lol

The software updater, checks the current software first, it then downloads the latest version of that, e.g euro1, etc...If there arent any updates, it downloads the current version that you already have and lets you re-install that... Any items saved on the phone will be deleted, however realistically, if you took it to a Sony repair centre, thats the first thing they would do too...

It will wipe everything, however if that is part of the firmware, then it should be installed again when its updated...

I gave the solution to fix this problem, im afraid that is the only solution, whether this is a software problem or a hardware issue on the handset, doing a firmware flash would be the first thing done at a SE service centre, that was a definate fixya, lol... Im sorry there isnt another miracle cure... If you are able to get hold of another K800 with the 007 updates, then you may be able to remove the flash IC and replace your existing one with the flash chip from that handset, however to do this you will need equipment like a hot air rework station.

If the software update/reflash does not solve the issue then it will be a hardware fault, which will require board level repairs.

If the phone is still under warranty then please take it to an authorised Sony Ericsson service centre, if they are not able to fix the handset for you they will provide a replacement, however this will probably not be the limited edition 007 version.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Operation failed

First try to Reset Factory Settings. If not ok then you need to reflash the phone. If you have the cable you can do it easily with setool2lite

Security code

Go to Settings > Security > Phone protection > Protection.
Turn this on.
Enter a code you will remember easily, something which may mean something to you, like a sibling's birthday or memorable year. It must be four digits long.

P.S. for your security, I advise you do not post your private e-mail address anywhere like forums, it can pose a security risk as everyone can see it. (Friendly advice)

K800i-operation failed message for games and applications folder

I have had this problem for a few weeks and finally sent it back for reflashing as that seems to be the only solution. I got it back and it still does it but it has been reflashed since it has the latest revision (which it didn't have before)... It has to go back :(
