Go to the device mananger. Hold down the windows key and press the Pause/Break key. Go to the Advanced Tab, Then Settings under Startup and Recovery.
You can uncheck to display the startup menu and you can also edit the boot.ini right there.

My nevi 2595 shows only touch dot and will not do anything else. If you touch it the dot moves to another area on the screen

It looks like you are in the calibration mode ... just touch every dot and after a few times it will go back to the menu ... as usual.

It turned on and said touch dot several times now the screen is off center

Turn off Garmin. Pres top left screen and hold. While holding, turn unit on but keep holding corner. Once the black dot shows up again, use the eraser part of a pencil to chase the dot. That would give exact measurements. Your fingers may be wet or too large and are offsetting the screen area readings. Good Luck

Whydo i have pink dots on my screen

Hi gailandst632,

I saw you post stating that you have pink spots/dots on your Screen.

to determine what the problem is we weill need to turn your computer off and boot into the BIOS screen.

1. Turn your Computer Off, then as soon as you power the machine On keep on tapping F1 on the keyboard to get the BIOS screen it will be a Blue screen with white fonts on it, in that screen see if the pinks dots are present or not.

2. If the pink dots are present in BIO then that means that the LCD screen of your Laptop needs to be replaced.

3. You will need to call your manufacturer regarding this concern check if your system is still in warranty, because this will be very expensive if you are out of warranty.

4. All manufacturers will cover a pixelated LCD screen if the dots or pixelated area has at-least 5 or more dots/pixelated areas on the LCD screen.

I hope that his will help you with the concern that you have posted.

Have a nice day.

  6. Keep pressing in the center of the Dot as it moves around the screen.
  7. Once this is complete, there will be a message: Calibration Complete.
  8. Touch Ok and the unit will restart.

My Garmin nuvi 200w behaves erratically until it has been turned on and warmed up for around 10 minutes. Before this time the touch screen may not work or when pressed respond as if pressed at another...

First make sure the batteries are good and at normal room temperature.
Second, based on your question your touch screen is bad or needs calibrating....
Then
Try to recalibrate your screen:
