Question about Panasonic Audio Players & Recorders

Need 2ch Line-Out on my Panasonic hometeather

I'd like to add a second zone to my 5.1 surround sound system.
Therefore a stereo line out would be nice, so I can add a second amp and a couple of speakers. The scart on the SC-PT460 has audio-line out pins, but only the DVD/CD playback is routed to it. The FM radio, Optical in and AUX in are not passed to the scart when one of these sources is selected.
I want to find out where on the PCB the 2-channel line-level sound can be tapped. So far I found the location where the headphone jack is, but that signal is volume dependent, so I can't use it.
A service manual would be nice.
Any help or suggestions are much appreciated. greets from Belgium

It's a SA-PT460 which is the European version of the SC-PT460.
There is no RCA connection on the back that has a line out.

What's the model of the unit? Is there some reason you can't just use available back panel connectors like a Tape Out?

If you're dabbling around the headphone jack you might follow it back to the volume control then locate the pre-amplified front channels and tap off of them there.

I have a panasonic tv and i need to know how to hook up home theather system lenoxx electronics model HT 3915

Hi, the Panasonic t.v. more than likely has more than one kind of output. One of them should be actually lit up with a red glow around the edges, that is the fiber optic digital sound output. It's called a" TOSLINK" connector and is plugged into a matching jack on the surround sounds rear panel. The t.v. may also have a "LINE OUT", " T.V. AUDIO OUT " or " FIXED AUDIO " output this may be in the form of a small 3.5mm stereo headphone jack ( i still call them 1/8 in. plugs) this you can plug into the surround sounds line input on the back panel. If the line input on back of the theater system is rca just use a stereo headphone plug to rca adapter. I hope this helped and thanks for choosing FixYa, good luck-Prodzilla

I would like to connect my computer to my panasonic sa-ht800v unit and hear the sound thru the surround sound speakers

In general, your PC's sound card (and its controlling software) will determine what it can connect to.

Even the most basic PC would have stereo analog output via the typical green 1/8" connector or a headphone jack that easily adapts to RCA pair for analog audio connection. Any Line Level input EXCEPT PHONO would accept the PC's output. The output level would be controlled by the sound card software and settings.

The SA-HT800's single LINE Input would accept the Green stereo audio or speaker output from a standard PC, once adapted. Select VCR.

Find your PC's Sound Controls and enable the applicable input. make sure the volumes of both Inputs and Outputs are turned up.

Though not applicable to theGemini, more-advanced sound cards and audio hardware would have similar adaptable 5.1 or 7.1 (paired) analog outputs and / or digital audio outputs that conform to the s/pdif or Dolby Digital standards.

It would help if you use windows 7 ..cause it has the possibility to select the digital out on the sound settings .If you use xp ..you have to open the sound manager and click advanced ..and if it only have the stereo choice t measn the system is not capable to send info in other way ..via hdmi ..and choose stereo ..and select the surround on the tv ..if it is next in line for processing the signal .

There are 5 slots for five speakers. the only ones that work are the top two. is there any way i can fix this?

It sounds like it's just playing in stereo mode, not surround-sound mode.
Play a DVD, and check the remote for buttons like "Surround" or "Dolby" or "Bypass"

I cannot get 5:1 surround sound out of my PC

I am not quite sure if you are connecting the pc to a HD receiver or straight to a HD dvd player. IF you are connected to a HD dvd player only, you will need to connect your speaker to your PC to get the 5.1 sound. The sequences is Front speakers to the Lime port, Center and sub to the Orange port and rear speakers to the black port. Hope this helps you out. Good Luck

Not all the speakers are working despite ensuring the cables are

There is a button that says -Mix 2CH - make sure it does not say Mix 2CH ON, or you will only get 2 channels when watching DVDs. This Panasonic, as well as legions of other home theater systems, are more limited than they seem. The SC-HT500 can give you surround when watching DVD's on the unit, but you will not be able to get full surround for your TV, because the Panasonic does not have the right digital inputs.

Add 2 speakers outside on a 6 speaker surround sound and hear all

You won`t get surround sound mix with 2 speakers, you can have a 2nd zone but this will only play a "Stereo Sound" if you have that playback option with the SC-RT50, what you will need is a speaker selector switch or better known as an A & B switch, this will ideally run from the front left and right speaker output of the receiver into the A & B switch then run into each pair of speakers inside or outside, what is common nowdays are receiver that are known as 2nd zone connections where you can have 2 sets of speaker in different rooms, unfortunatly the SC-PT50 does not have this option.

to get the digital you have to have the digital optical line or the coax rca jack digital audio connection from device to stereo reciever to get the dolby digital surround sound to work , otherwise you can only get a virtual surround sound from the reciever( no dolby digital )

Panasonic HDMI surround system problem

The HDMI cable connection on your system is a video out to your TV.
To get audio from the TV so you can hear it through the system, you need to add a cable from the audio out of your TV to the "aux" input on the panasonic system.
This is most likely a red and white connection which will give you stereo, or pro-logic surround from the home theater system.
