Dell photo all in one printer 962

I can print from my comuter put I cannot make a copy I receive on error message of 2200??

    Well i'm glad i'm not alone here..Dell "support" forum wasted days of my time. I am going to TRY your remedy. I will prob be back soon with more questions..i hope you're still around!

    I can print from my computer but the light when you scan a picture or copy something is not working....is there a light bulb that needs replaced or something? The page comes out totally black.

    My Dell 962 prints well but scans and copies are almost all black. Can th ebulb be replaced and if so where can i purchase one, if it is even worth it.

    my printer will print from the computer but will not print copies. It says error 2200.

So at what point did you install the firmware that you downloaded & saved? Also i read somewhere specific instructions as to uninstalling- was it unplugging the usb before uninstalling?
I just want to do this EXACTLY correctly because i have had a heck of a time with this problem.

    OH also WHY did you uninstall everything? Why didn't you just install the firmware?

I know but I don't know.  Yes, I've had this problem before but it has been a while.  It comes down to unplugging the USB and or the Power in certain sequence, then restarting the computer.

 

I JUST had the same thing happen to me again.  Since I am out of warranty..........I'll have to figure it out myself and check back after while.

    Well after three days I figured it out with the help from a "Geek" friend of mine in Tx.  (Dell 962)


    To finally fix it for usage I had to do the following, exactly.


    I Googled: 962 Printer Firmware update.......and it came up.

    I then typed the requuired service tag off the inside of my printer and hit send which took me to a Dell site that provided the free download and site.


    A download came up which I saved to my computer.

    I then went to my control panel and deleted the copier software, restarted my computer (without power OR the USB cable to the computer hooked up)


    Once the (2 disc software) that came with my printer was re-installed the computer asked me to hook up the USB and turn the power on the computer. 


    Finally, I restarted the computer one more time and it is done.


    Everything works, print, copy and scan.

If not, then...

Unplug the printer from the wall. Noe remove the power brick from the printer for 60 seconds. This will reset any error message the printer is getting. Plug the printer back in.

Turn on the printer. Open up the printer and take out the black cartridge and reseat it. Do the same for the color cartridge. Now close the printer and it will print an alignment page. Any error messages?

If you still get the error message, then it's possible that the sensor in the Dell Series 5 ink cartridge is bad. If this is a new Dell Series 5 ink cartridge, then take it back to the place of purchase for a replacement or refund.

black = black side(left) color = color side(right)

photo cartridge = black side(left color = color side(right)

Dell Series 5 ink cartridges have a sensor in them that cannot be reset. Article on refilling Dell ink cartridges.

Dell Series 5 ink cartridges can be purchased at Staples, Walmart or Dell's Website.

It's possible to pirchase a Dell Series 5 ink cartridge with a bad sensor. Please take it back to the place of purchase for a replacement.

Dell AOI printer 962 showing error 2200 when trying to scan or copy. I have tried disconnecting and re-installing but have been unable to fix it. Can anyone help ? Mac


go to printers find dell aio 962, right click propertys, check 1st it is set to the right port, usb, paralell which ever the printer uses and that bidirectional support is enabled.same prop. page click advanced and be sure start printing immediately is checked then ok and try printing then. if no prob here then you may have a bad driver, a bad cable or a bad printer.

Won't copy, error message 2200 pops up and says to check manual. Manual doesn't reference that error message.


Try this - turn off the printer.
Remove the power supply.
Press the power button for 15 seconds.
Then plug it back in.

That should've cleared the printer!

Error 2200 for dell 962 printer


you might try going to the system restore on you computer and restore to an earlier time when your printer was functioning. it should at least reassign your drivers. I wouldn't try to update/upgrade until your printer is restored.

Error 2200


Error 2200 is a Scan Carrier Stall error... Maybe the scan carrier stalled during a scan job. Turn off the printer, wait a few seconds, and then turn on the printer.

My Dell 962 Photo Printer gives error when trying to photocopy.


Hi,

The issue you are experiencing with your printer i.e error 2200 is related to "Scan Carrier Stall error" I believe the steps mentioned below will fix the issue,

1. Unplug the power cord from the wall socket.
2. Disconnect the power supply from the back of the printer.
3. Wait 15 seconds.
4. Reconnect the power supply to the back of the printer.
5. Plug the power cord back into the wall socket.
  1. Go to www.support.dell.com.
  2. Click on Drivers & Downloads.
  3. Under Option 2: Select a Product as printers .
  4. Locate the printer(s) 962 printer and click Go.
  5. Select an Operating System that is installed in your computer then choose downloads and look for Firmware.
  6. Download and install the firmware, then restart the computer and the printer, however please make sure that you do not restart your computer and the printer when the download and the installation is in progress.
I would appreciate if you could let me know if you have refilled the black cartridge, cause Dell printer often give error messages if the cartridges are refilled and not replaced with an original Dell one. If you have done so please replace the cartridge with a genuine Dell cartridge.

My Dell printer doesn,t copy or scan it gives me error 2200


- Turn off the printer first
- Remove the power supply and pressed the power button for 15 seconds
- Clear info out of the printer
- then plug the power back in and press the power button.
