Fridgaire dryer model #FDEC216RES1 drum isnt turning

If the dryer does not turn then you need to take the back off and see if the belt has broke or come off. If the belt broke or came off then you can get a new one at most home repair stores. If the belt is on and or not broke the see if the wheel mounted to the motor will freely spin. If it does spin the make sure that the electric wires attached to the motor itself are attached and there are no shortages from the motor to the relay on the back of the control panel.

Should my drum stop turning when i push it after the belt has broken

Dryer drums aren't always the easiest to turn but not difficult either. If you know for a certain that the belt broke and the drum is still reallty hard to turn then you probably have something caiught in the blower wheel area, like a sock or whatnot

The dry heats up great but the drum does not turn. Is the alot to fix and is it worth the money to fix this dryer

Good Morning, If the drum will not turn you may have a broken belt or one that's getting to the point of breaking. You can unplug the unit or turn the breaker off and remove the back. This will give you a view of the drum and belt. You can the plug it in being careful not to touch the wiring and see if the motor is turning or you will see the belt as it is rapped around the drum. If the motor pulley is not turning with the belt on, the motor is faulty. If it is turning and the belt is broke or having a rough time moving the tub it more then likey could be the belt, if it is not broke. If you determine that the motor isn't turning, then it may not be worth the $ to replace with labor + Parts. If it is the broken belt only, it may be worth the cost, you can call around.Take into consideration the age of this dryer also. I Sincerely hope this has given you some direction to follow.

Drum won't turn

it came off the tensioner or it is broke. pull the belt and see if it is not broke. if it is still loose around the drum, then it just came off the tensioner.

look at the manual on how to put back the belt with the tensioner.

tnx 4 using fixya,

Hotpoint Aquarious TDC32 Hi, Can you help me please? The drum on my tumble dryer has stopped turning round. The motor is still working ok, do you think it might be the drum belt? Before it stopped...

ths will be the belt if the motors working then thats the only thing it can be undue the screws at the back of the lid take the lid of if u cant see the belt around the drum its broke if u can just try and pull it up if it comes totally out its broke if not then it has come off the rolllers which r situated at the bottom of the drier u can get to these by taking the bottom cover off at the back BUT ALWAYS SWITCH OFF AT THE POWER AND UN-PLUG THE DRIER love
