Hitachi PDP 55HDT79 got no picture

I have a 55HDT79 that have no picture but sound OK. I replaced Power Supply Unit (HA01751). As from basic troubleshooting flow chart, all five LED on Digital Main P.W.B are turned off after program is loaded, that means no error.
Still, there is no Va(60V) and Vs(80V) coming out from the Power Supply Unit (HA01751) to drive the screen. I have the unit just over one year and a half.

Thank you for the quick and good response. Actually, I checked the 3 feedback signals from the Main P.W.B. The measurement are correct. I have not check the screen circuit yet. I will follow up on this.

That power supply is a switch mode power supply, which means it looks for an input signal to turn on.
that signal comes from the main pc board.
if there is excessive current draw,it will shut down.
check the input, and the screen circuit it is driving

Kirtec, can you give us a little more information? I have the same problem. My 55HDS69 attempts to turn on, I see the Vsago signal go to 3.3 v for about a second, I see 80 V on the output, for about a second, then both go to zero V. So, where would the "excessive current draw" occur? How do you "check the screen circuit"?

I have a Hitachi plasma model# 55hdt79 that went black out. No display at all. Sound is ok. We checked the power supply unit and found out that 90v output is missing. We changed the power supply unit...

It sounds like the transformer on board has gone out (not the one in the power supply) and is no longer charging the panel. the board internally that holds the transformer will have a model number on it, any decent repair facility should allow you to order the parts if you have the part number already. The transformer will be fairly hard to miss. It is a large block ( a few inches X a few inches ) that if you look at carefully it should look like a large coil of copper wire. Or should look like there is a large coil of copper wire in it.

Have a Hitachi 55hdt79...no pictures only sounds.

It might be the power supply, check the main power supply. Audio power supply is seperate to main power supply, thats why you have a sound.

With no picture but only sound on my Akai PDP 4294

Try replacing the Y-sustain board. Might have to replace buffers attached to it too. Have you had it diagnosed? My picture went out and I replaced the power supply board. Worked for 2 weeks then acted up again. Got a different power supply board. Same thing 2 weeks later. Was told it now was a bad Y-sustain board. Replaced y-sustain board. Worked OK for about 2 hours then started having picture issues. Not the same issues before power supply or y-sustain problem. Was told that you might have to replace buffers attached to y-sustain when you replace y-sustain. Tired of dealing with it and only watch a couple hours a day, so I don't always have the problem unless I watch the TV for a long time. Will eventually replace buffers to see if that works. I would definitely find a place that gives free estimates or close to free to get a technician diagnosis. Then you can decide if you are able to do the work yourself.
