There is probably a spring that has come loose.
It is tricky... and you need some room to do this.
The white part of the washer is just a fancy cover. If you take it off and set it aside you will probably find your spring and you will figure out where it goes.
I will tell you the springs are very important. They hold the drum so that while it is spinning it stays centered and does not rub the sides. I learned this the hard way. I let my rattling go for a long time. Probably a year. The drum rubbed a hole thru the plastic liner and when my washer got to the spin cycle the centrifuge effect to get the water out of the clothes... got the water to go out the hole on to my floor. The drum was 200 dollars and was a big pain to replace. Not worth the time at all.
So I would not let it go to long if I were you. Wait for a couple days off in a row... or call a tech. The springs are cheap and easy to fix. it might not even be broke. They have a coiled end like a key chain. I might have loosened and fallen off.
Hope this was helpful.
Doug

its the inner baskets bearings behind this basket as water gets past the rear seal into these bearings and ruins them, you need to dismantle the entire unit to remove the inner basket from the outer tub to replace these bearings

Haier hlp23e washer makes a rattling sound during spin that almost sounds like coins being slapped by an impeller. How do I fix?

Here's what I did that seemed to fix it. You know that plastic attachment you screwed onto the bottom? I'm pretty sure the noise is made by the bottom of the machine spinning against it. I thought the noise sounded sort of plastic-y, so I removed the bottom and sure enough, there were circular scratch marks on it. I haven't heard that annoying rattling yet.

Rattling sound and vibration while spinning

The spin bearing or basket drive may be worn or seized. These components allow the inner tub to spin freely inside the outer tub. When this is the problem, you usually hear a loud sound during the spin cycle. The other possibility can be faulty motor causing the bearing to rattle/. Check out both the motor as well as spin bearing. You can get required parts from www.repairclinic.com

Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Water leaking and loud noise and rattling on final spin cycle

Turn the drum by hand and if you hear any noises it is the rear bearing. If there is no noise then remove the front bottom panel and take out the coin trap on the pump and check those hoses.

That sounds like a clutch problem - probably just worn and need replacement. Will definitely need to pull to find exact fault.

Rattling noise during spin cycle

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

Thumping/knocking/rattles during wash agitation cycle

Mine is doing the same thing. I opened it up to see what was happening and it was the drive belt tension arm bumping around. Soon, the belt started slipping during the spin cycle. Now it won't spin and the belt starts to smolder from the friction of the drive motor. If you haven't checked your belt, that's a good place to start.
