Lights turn on and off, keypad is out of control, F3 Code appears in the display.

GE Microwave Spacemaker JVM1430BD002. Microwave starts turning the lights on and off, keypad is out of manual control and we are unable to use our MW. When we disconnect it for some time and connect it again, we can use it for a short period of time and then the problem starts again. There is a code F3 appearing in the display.

F3 on a GE / Hotpoint microwave means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

If and when an oven is coming on or doing anything by itself, this is very dangerous and can result in a fire.

So until it is repaired, please leave it unplugged or leave the door open when it's not in use, and please do not leave it running unattended.

We regularly repair such control units for customers nationwide by mail in about a week or so with a one-year guarantee.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number) for pricing and more information & help.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

I have a GE Spacemaker JVM1540SN1SS. It stopped working without any warning: no light or clock or anything. Just dead weight. Any ideas?

It indicates the main fuse in the microwave oven has opened, probably one of the main parts have failed, possible causes, magnetron, inverter board, and the keypad control board.

I have a GE Spacemaker microwave JVM1430BD002 There's a circular panel inside on the upper surface that's all greasy around the edges. It has arrows with 'open' close' on it but I can't get it to move. I'm...

That's the stirrer cover. It does need to removed and cleaned, and the stirrer parts above it, too. so that the grease will not eventually cause arcing and damage.

Your owner's manual should cover that. If you've misplaced yours, you can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

Model is GE JVM1430BD002. Microwave works but range fan and lights do not. Unit "popped" when fan was turned on one time and hasn't worked since. Is there a fuse or breaker for the range hood functions?

Yes - there is an internal "special" in-line fuse. Most likely it is the fan that has caused it. Clean the fan with switch-cleaner spray and make sure it is smooth running. Replace special fuse with identical version.
Check lights before operation.
Replace all covers before test.

GE Microwave Spacemaker oven, Model JVM240

That would almost certainly be a problem on the control circuit board. If the bulbs happen to short / blow out or if they are removed or installed while the microwave is still plugged in, there is often an arc which causes damage to the board. We repair regularly these boards for such problems for $32.50 nationwide.
