Question about Sharp Office Equipment & Supplies

I JUST CHANGED THE TONER AND THE COPIES ARE PRINTING OUT WITH A HEAVY THICK LINE ON THE SIDES

I have a sharp copier al 1631. I just put in a new toner. My copies are coming out with a dark heavy black line on the edge of the paper.

    Were the copies ok before changing toner? Is this an Oem (original cartridge)? Could be drum failing now

My al-1631 gives blank copies. just replaced toner. no warning lights of any kind. no message lights. it just prints out blank paper. could it be the drum? can't find instruction manual. purchased...


Was the copier working fine before you changed the cartridge? If so I think your cartridge is the problem. If it started making blank copies right after you changed it. If this is not the case the first thing I would say is it is not the drum. Try opening and closing the right side door. There are contacts in the door that will cause blank copies. I have had several customers do this and it fixed the problem. You can also try pulling out the toner and then pull the drum unit partially out and re-seat it. Then re-install the toner.

Fixya: Sharp AL-1631 copier doesn't recognize new drum?


press the following keys in this order:

  1. Clear Key (far right key on panel)
  2. Exposure Key (far left key on panel)
  3. Clear Key (far right key on panel)
  4. Exposure Key (far left key on panel)

once the panel goes blank make your display show
  • 24 then press your start key
  • then 7 press start
  • press C one time
  • 20 press start
  • 1 press start
Then press C until the copier restarts.

Try the old one back in it? does that work if so Faulty unit take it back

Sharp AL 1631 ---- Getting blank copies


Hi, you can stop a copy half way to see if it image is on the on the drum if not check and make sure toner unit is turning. if not main charge. thanks dale.

Noises when printing copies


Take the new cart. out and reinstall the old cart. Does the noise disappear? I would tap and shake the toner cart. BUT BE CAREFULL, the cart is ready to spill toner. On the box and in the instructions it tells you, or should, that you must shake and tap the outside of the cart. This is due to settling and the toner maybe packed. By tapping and shaking it will feel the toner. If the toner is packed it will put undue pressure on the augers inside the toner cart. and cause a grinding noise. If after tapping and shaking, reinstall the new cart. and check. If everything is ok -- great. If the noise remains contact the company your purchased the cart. from and ask for a replacement. These cart. are mass produced and mostly reused ( refurbed). Parts wear now and they do not replace the inside parts, they just repack with toner and seal.

SHARP COPIER AL-1631


2 things:
1. Fusing Unit has to be replaced- worn or broken gear
and/or
2. Main Drive clutch has to be replaced.

Either way it has to be done by a trained technician.

Sharp AL-1631 coper - toner problem


the problem in your machine is on the drum unit there is a arching on the mc unit.located in the upper portion of the drum unit.if you have an old drum unit try to install it again just for testing.and check if ther is a dumping toner again.
