Question about Panasonic PT-52LCX65 44" HDTV

1 Answer

Sometimes the picture is shifted right and sometimes lines on btm

Sometimes the picture is shifted to the right half a screen.  It started with color lines running on the bottom 3-4 inches of the picture and the bottom part of the picture at the top of the screen. This only happened sometimes. Now every once in a while the screen will come on shifted to the right.  I have tried pushing "split" which gives me a full screen, but the picture quality is TERRIBLE and when I hit menu it goes back to the shifted position. Any ideas????

Try changing the input device to something you know works for sure. Check the settings are proper or shift it to factory default settings. If problem persists, it might need attention by a qualified service technician.

Flickers after 5min of use. Perfect sound, turns on fine and excellent picture quality when in blue screen menu mode. Why?

This intermittent problem is very difficult to rectify. Just contact the authorised service center for Hitachi at your town. The work is really a skilled one, that a user cannot do it with ease.

My tedelex television screen plays the picture in the middle and sometimes the picture appear on the top half of the screen. What could be causing this?

The proble is with its vertical sweep output. This section is on main circuit board. Replace all the electrolytic capacitors there. There will be 5 or 6 of them. Replace all of the at the same time.

When I press start, it sometimes does nothing.

Hello,, there is likely a switch incorporated in your lint filter assembly that is defective, a close examination of how the lint filter is positioned will reveal the location of the switch, you can use an ohm meter to check the switch operation or for the cost of it maybe just replace it, the control panel is not at fault.

My Panasonic HDTV has sound but no picture

I have a question : Is the line a faint band top to bottom towards the middle or to the right of the screen?

This was a fairly common problem if you can confirm it?

Evenly spaced vertical lines

Hello
Check the smoothing capacitor to video output supply voltage, usually derived from any one winding of the LOT. It will come around 10uF350VDC to 47uF 350VDC range. If this capacitor is faulty, or gone less in capacitance with time, this type of fault will occur. Check the green volour output transistor on the video output card, can be located attached to the neck of the picture tube; for any loose soldering or leakage. OK.

Dell Inspiron 1501 screen half black

Had the same problem. Fixed it though. Here's how:
You'll notice that the screen comes back to life if you press down on the very top of the green line. This is because a controller circuit board behind the LCD screen (at the top) is pressure fit flat-surface-to-flat surface to the contacts on the back of the LCD. Eventually, the sticky substance that holds this circuit board in place wears thin, collects dust, etc.. and the connection between the circuit board and the lcd contact is lost. The line appears where this break in contact has occured.
So, the solution is to increase the pressure at that point to reestablish the connection. I wasn't able to remove the circuit board to clean beneath it as it seemed too likely to cause damage. Nor would I have had the right adhesive to connect it back, so I simply removed the LCD and put a bunch of tape at that point so that it would "push" with a little more pressure when screwed back into place. Worked great.
To remove the LCD, pull off the 6 feet around the screen. Remove the screws behind them. Carefully pry off bezel with a small flathead screwdriver working your way around it. Once removed there are simply 4 screws on the left and 4 more on the right of the LCD to remove. Pull out screen carefully and start stacking bits of tape on the spot where pressure seems to work best. Put it back in and see if you've made any difference. I did this with the computer on so I could verify my results. Just be careful not to short out any naked contacts.
If this doesn't work for you, at least you'll know you just need to replace the LCD, not the video card. Easily found on ebay.

if they are stationary vertical lines in picture and consistently appear after warmng up most likely would be a display issue. displays have control boards attached to them that would sometimes cause intermittent lines to come and go but if when these lines appear, they do not go away without powering off and leaving off for awhile and if no video can be seen behind lines the lcd panel would be where the failure is and would have to be replaced to resolve issue
