My D50 has been manually reset and I am still getting the memory card error. The menu screen won't come on. Battery is full. What was the solution to this "electronic" error? Does it need to be taken into an authorized repair dealer or can I fix this myself?

Hi Have you tried resetting the camera back to factory settings? This should clear up any problems...if it doesn't it may at least let you know what the problem is? Also...do not use an SD card no bigger than 2 gigs, What is thee display showing? Make sure the date and time are correct! Get back to me if you need any more help...Thanks...John,

I took some picture on my Nikon D50 without the sdcard, and they are stored on the camera's internal memory, and I have looked through the menu and through the manual, but cannot find a way to transfer...

The pictures are NOT stored in the internal memory, because the camera doesn't have any. Any pictures you take without a memory card can be reviewed on the screen, just to check that the camera is working, but are not stored and disappear when you take the next picture or turn the camera off. Sorry, but those pictures are gone.

I know that wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but there it is.

Dropped my Nikon D50 and now it shows there is no SD card in it and the battery indicator is flashing. Nothing appears on the LCD - including the menu. I've taken the SD card out and the battery and...

Contact Nikon tech support at www.nikon.com to see what they recommend. I don't think the warranty covers abuse such as dropping the camera so you may be in for an expensive repair. However, he Nikon techs may be able to suggest something that might help you avoid that expense.

Hi - I have a Nikon D50 and am using a Panasonic 1GB memory card -- that I have used for several years. Just recently the carmera only allows 12 pictures on this memory card & I'm not sure what is...

Thast's a bit odd, Elise.
A couple of things to check:
1. Is the lock switch in the fully UP position? It is a little slide switch on the side opposite the cut-off corner. Slide it right down then back up again .
2. Does the card have old images, music or other data stored on it? It will hold up to 400 5mb images but it does, like all memory cards, have finite capacity.
3. Have you tried formatting the card in camera?

I took a few pictures with out my sd card in my Nikon D50, how do I get those pictures off my camera?

do you have a usb cable to connect your camera to your pc?
Then generally by pressing the power button once the usb cable is connect, your pc will recognise your camera and then follow the onscreen instruction.

Camera turns on and focuses, but cannot see menu or take pictures

two things here, have you checked to see if the location to store the pics if it is placed to the intenal memory and the memory is full

also pls try to take a pic with another SD card may be that this card is either corrupted or damaged

Nikon D50 is not taking images although it makes the capture / shutter sound. Not able to review on playback or see when downloading to a computer

Double check that the memory card is inserted correctly. If so then I would remove the battery from the camera, give it about 10 seconds and put the battery back in.

If after turning the camera back on the unit will not take pictures, go to the system menu in the camera and format the memory card. If it does not work at this point, either the data writer in the camera is faulty or the memory card is defective.

Memory card flashes full when it's not

There should be a "format card" option in the camera's system menu. do this and it may help the unfortunate equipment realize the situation:) (be sure there are no pics you want to keep as they will be permenantly removed)
