I would try dragging and dropping files into the player by opening it in my computer instead of syncing the files. I had this problem, but on a different player and it fixed mine.

Another thing that might help is charging the battery completly before using it again. Or you could have a bad song on there that is causing it to freeze up

No, it's just a memory card

I have a coby mp-c582 that I bought used for my grandson. I like it fine but am not completely sure of what each button does. The o and x button on the side for instance. What is that one for. I thought it...

You are confused because the buttons have several purposes. The +/- are volume up and down and Next/Previous. If you press and hold the button, you control the volume. Quickly press and release for Next or Previous. The button below them is Pause/Play and Power (again press and hold to power on or off). The switches on the left side are Hold (no buttons work) and Random (play loaded songs in a randomized order)

For the hold feature, move the switch to the padlock. Unlock by sliding the other way. The Random switch has a more obvious label - Random or Normal.

The user's manual for the MP-C582 is available here: http://www.cobyusa.com/files/manuals/MPC582_MN.pdf . If the direct link doesn't work, try the support site: http://www.cobyusa.com/?p=doc and search for the model (MP3 & Portable, MP3&MP4 Players, MPC582.)

I hope this helps.

Does the Coby mp610 have shuffle/random mode? And if so, how do I access it? Thanks in advance!

Hello,

How to go through the player's menu:
Main Menu Controls
To browse through the different modes, press
<LEFT> or <RIGHT>.
To select a mode, press the <ENTER> button.

The MP610 has a random mode:
It is under
> Music Mode
> Repeat
> Normal / Repeat One / Repeat All / Random

Online support for the MP610 is on cobyusa.com: In Internet Explorer
enter cobyusa.com in the address bar.
All support for this player shows up, when you enter MP610 in the box
Product Search ( page top right of the Coby support site).

I have a coby mp-c855. I record my own voice by the following: hold the M button for a few seconds, scroll over to record and press play to start your recording and pause to end. To listen to your recordings in the future: use M button, choice voice options and press play. I have not figured out how to delete my voice recordings yet.

Coby MP-C7085 Wont work

These players are plagued with problems! I have the 2gb version which does the same thing. I gave up on trying to use its internal battery and bought a usb charging cord for use in my car. I just unplug the cord from the cig lighter socket when I'm done using it. If it doesn't shut off, which is 99.9 percent of the time, then it just runs its battery down until it finally shuts off. It's a shame this player doesn't work as good as it looks...
