Check if there are Vista drivers since Windows 7 and Vista are very similar. If they are not available then you'll probably have to go back to your previous operating system.

My pavillion dv7 webcam stopped working. it says i need to turn on camera. i can't find any information that works. i see no quickplay program on my notebook. do you have any suggestions.

Windows Vista and 7 ( can't remember about XP ) come with native drivers for the webcam so it may be a problem with these. You could try running a system file check by browsing to all programs, accessories, right click on the Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'. Type in the following command and hit return. sfc / scannow
If that doesnt work download and install the software driver for your webcam on the link below.http://www.downloadsource.net/d16952/HP-Pavilion-Webcam-Driver-Windows-Vista-x32-x64/ i hope this works for you.

I have a sony vaio.. just upgraded to windows 7, but now my webcam doesn't work. I tried installing the drives it needs but still no go. What webcam software should i install to get my webcam to work?

your web cam may not be compatible with the Windows operating system and will have to be run in either Windows XP mode or you will have to contact the manufacturers site to update the drivers for your camera. This is done in the device manager. Windows 7 also has a feature that will automatically update the drivers if they are available. If not then you will have to run you camera in the XP or Vista mode.
I hope this helps. Have great day>

Need drivers webcam for windows 7

Currently there aren't any drivers for your computer with Windows 7. Dell only offers drivers for your computer with Windows XP or Windows Vista. I would try using the Creative Labs Webcam Driver they have for Vista. Since many things about Vista & 7 are similar, often the drivers for Vista will work with Windows 7. Go to dell.com, enter the model of your computer, choose Vista as your operating system, then go to Input Devices, choose the Creative Webcam and download the driver to your desktop (I suggest against using Dell's Download Manager, just download via your browser like you usually would). Then install the driver. With any luck your will be up and running with your webcam.

I tryed hooking up my easy cam on my new laptop its a window vista and it keeps saying d-link cif webcam and thats not the cam how do i fix this cause i cant get on cam nor take pics

Most Web Cams will NOT work with VISTA !!!
Microsoft forgot to add driver's in Vista for most hardware. r you need to buy a cam specifically for Vista and if you do it will work on other operating systems as well...

Quite a few of these problems are addressed in Windows 7...

Good Luck!

Change of operating system

That particular webcam has been retired from Creative Labs for some time now. I checked the manufacturer site as well as driver guide in hopes of someone creating a Windows Vista driver. Unfortunately there was nothing available.

The biggest problem with Creative Labs is they have Horrible Horrible driver support. I remember the nightmare of getting the drivers for my Audigy Sound Card replaced.

If you want to try to get it working follow these steps, in this order:

1) Plug in the cam and see if Vista will autodetect it and set it up.
2) Try using the Windows 98 drivers (probably won't work but you can try, stranger things have happened)
3) If one of those 2 steps allowed the cam to work, just find yourself some webcam software. (2 Free ones off the top of my head are Fwink and Yawcam)

If neither of those options work, you'll have to go and replace your webcam. I would recommend staying away from Creative Labs. I've got a great Logitech Cam (Mine does HD Quality) that I purchased for about $80. It's called the Logitech Quickcam 9000. It does a beautiful job and it comes with everything you need to get started. There are cheaper models available that will work equally as well with Vista. Check your local computer store.

Problem when i installed in windows vista

There is still plenty of hardware issues with Vista, so go to the cam or Windows web site for related issues and see if there is a patch. Make sure the cam is also set up correctly and use windows live if your'e still using MSN. You can also try installing Windows XP drivers as they are sometimes accepted and work.
