This may be duplicate reply..hit wrong button. The breaker isn't tripped...I checked all the connections and double..even triple checked...to be sure nothing was pulled loose inside the unit. Could hiting / skining the wire with the weedeater cause the 24 volt transformer to go bad? And were is transformer located?

Thanks for your reply....it turns out...it was a tiny 3amp fuse in the control panel located inside the furnace..part of the thermostat wiring loop for the system.

Hi, you will have to run the entire strand with a new set of wires from the outdoor unit to the inside unit. the wire nuts will not work in this situation. i would also check the indoor wall control device for its operational value as well. it may be shorted out.

Maybe an electrical problem, you might be needing a vom or a volt-ammeter-tester to eliminate the possibilties. possible that the motor itself is dead, you can short the two leads test with the continuity tester if you can read anything of value tell me, or momentarily plug it on to test it, hope this help

you may have shorted out your low voltage transformer. check and see if they installed a fuse in the circuit. easy fix.

3 amp fuse blows when ac is switched on. Heater works fine.

There is a short in the low voltage wires somewhere for sure. The most common place is the low voltage on the outside unit, sometimes animals chew through them or they get cut with a weed eater. Just my experience. You basically have to trace it back all the way to the thermostat and heater. The only other thing is the contactor

Furnice air blows, but my ac unit outside want cut on

if the inside unit is running but the outside unit isn't - I would check the fuses or breaker. I suspect you have a blown fuse or a tripped breaker.
What is also possible is that the 'low voltage' thermostat wire (coming from the thermostat inside the house) has been cut - possibly by a lawn mower or weed eater - or chewed into by a dog.
If this is the case - you easily splice (with all power off) the wires back together using the color of the individual wires.

Make sure none of the thermostat wires from the inside unit to the outside unit have come loose or have be cut by a weed eater or such. These units are a little more complex than your average heat pump.

have you used the weed eater out by the condensing unit could be short in thermostat control wiring to outside unit or a stuck contactor in condenser control circuit try these first then if not there in furnace control circuit at board that jockeys between air and heat remove thermostat wires from board remember thier location bet it stops.

Condensing unit

Probably one of the wires going to the control board or contactor has been pulled off when this happened. If you feel comfortable trying to reconnect these comment me back and I will try to walk you through it. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE CONDENSER HAS HIGH VOLTAGE INSIDE OF IT.
