After Lighting storm TV want power up, inside fuse is good

We had a bad lighting storm. It knocked at the transformer on the pole and throughed some breakers. When the electric company restored power the TV will not power up. I do HVAC repair work so I do know a little about a fluke. I figured it had a fuse so I removed the back and there was a fuse right after were the cord plugs into the board. Checked the fuse, fuse good. Checked incoming power into board 121v before and after the fuse. There is no hot spots that you can just see and no smell of anything hot. Got any ideas?

SOURCE: No picture, no sound, no menus

hard to diagnose with out voltage measurements, first thing i would do is call insurance company and tell them you had a brown out and then the tv went out.
a common problem with this tv is convergence amp ic's

SOURCE: Toshiba 57H81, power to transformer and flyback.

IF YOU REPLACED THE SAME PICO FUSE, YOU PROBABLY HAVE A BAD CONVERGENCE IC AGAIN . DID YOY SNUG UP THE IC TO THE HEAT SINK AND USE THERMAL HEAT COMPOUND ON THE NEW IC'S? ALSO CHECK SOLDER CONNECTIONS TO C810 AND C809 THE FUSE BY THE CAPACITORS MAY BE OPEN.

SOURCE: Toshiba TP48C90 Convergence (replaced ICs, worked for 2 days)

Well, my thought is that there are a ton of knock off generic convergence IC's out there that usually hold up as long as yours did. Professionals like me will only use Sanyo original STK's. The counterfeit STK's out there are everywhere. Do some research on the web to locate Sanyo originals, they are out there.

SOURCE: TV shutdown itself. LED on/off indicator is blinking.

That happened to me before. I was watching TV and all the sudden it would just turn off on me. The power switch had gone bad and I had to have a new one put in.

LG LB5900(UV BUSWLQR).It was hit in a storm through my directv. The red power light on the tv is on when plugged in but wont turn on.Whatd is the easiest way to find if it is the power supply board?

I would say it is the main board! The lightning went through the coaxial and hit the main board! I have had Lighting hit my sat, but only when it was grounded! LOL! so I learned my lesson! No ground since! You Have dish on a pole right? If I was You I would get a good, no great serge protector! one with coaxial connections and phone jacks! and hook the dish to it then out to tv! Not the cheap kind! Or It will likely get hit again! Best of luck!

WE HAD A LIGHTING STORM AND I HAVE NO LIGHTS ON MY BRAVIA WILL NOT TURN ON IS THERE A BREAKER OR FUSE TO LOOK FOR

There is a fuse in the tv power supply board,a fuse it is located near the a/c socket plug in of the tv power supply board.Lighting storm pack a huge anount of power and magnatic static field. If ur tv was in that path.U will not fixed it with a new fuse the tv whole power board probally dead already and those other circuit boards on the tv might be dead too.Good look with the replacement of the fuse, maricles might happen ur tv just have a dead fuse only. Not must take to or call many tvs shops and get the best estamates prices to fixed the tv.Not a do it self project,if tv a got hit by a massive power surges.

Absolutely no power on my Toshiba flatscreen lcd led tv. In a lighting storm we unplugged all of the appliances. This tv still was damaged because it was connected to the cable box via a hdmi cable. Not a...

If the HDMI cable was the only connection, then the high voltage pulse would have had to go through one or more of the video wires in the cable, through the video board, and back out the HDMI cable shielding. What troubles me is you should see the unit come up to standby and refuse to power on. That suggests there was something else connected besides the HDMI cable or the base made a decent ground. At least the panel is worth $150 or so (it is highly unlikely it was damaged).

Wrong voltage applied to Bose Wave Radio

Yes there is a fuse inside the unit.
But it was not expecting a 220 jolt. And it may have fry-ed it. It would be about the same as if it were hit by lighting during a bad storm. Say a prayer. I would say you have a case , with your contractor. Good luck DFD

Tv wont come on

Don't mean to state the obvious but have you tried changing the fuse? There might also be some sort of internal protection device (fuse/circuit-breaker) that may need replacing/resetting.

Zenith 27" TV

One thing to try would be to unplug the set for about 10 seconds or so in case the microcontroller is out of sync and not responding to the power button. As far as lightening damaged sets, it does have a fuse but in my own experience, it rarely blows fast enough to protect the solid state circuits and is probably still good. If it still doesn't work when you plug it back in and assuming the fuse is good, then I would suspect a bad voltage regulator or even shorted transistor if it was on when the lightening struck. There are also possibilities of "swollen" surge damaged electrolytic capacitors that took the brunt of the lightening. Depending on the age and condition of the set, it may not be worth repair.
