Question about Motorola Mobility V3x Razr GSM World Cell Phone (Unlocked) Headset
I have a parts phone and don't want to distroy it. I want need to replace the usb port on the v3 that I use, but I don't know how to do it! I have the parts phone partially apart but can't get the mouth piece the rest of the way off! I don't want to ruin it! I am unable to charge my phone or transfer data to my pc because the usb port is damaged. I have all the outer screws that are visable out of the phone. Thank you for your time.
This is for advanced users only, you have to realize that if you havent mastered disasembly of a phone trying to alter the pcb board is a bad idea. the usb port is held on with a clear epoxy resin. Removal requires a scalpel and a heat gun. you will need to have new epoxy to put the new usb port on, keep in mind that there are 6 to 8 pins on mini usb ports. It is impossible to solder it on. use a pry tool to pull away the backing on the phone, remove the black rubber studs and pull the pcb board away from the backing (being carefull of the two snap clips holding the whole housing together. Flip the pcb board over and the usb port is exposed! hope this works out for you. its very difficult to do by hand!
