Question about JVC AV-27D302 27" TV
Hi - I have a JVC D-Series TV (AV-27D302). A couple of weeks ago when I turned the TV on, you could see that the top part of the viewable picture had shrunk down a bit and there was black/blank in it's place. After the TV was on for a bit, the picture would fill back up again. Lately however, not only has the picture not been filling back up after being on for a bit but the amount of shriking down (from the top only) has increased to about and inch and a half to two inches of black/blank showing. One other thing is that at the very top of the viewable image you can see that the picture/image appears to be 'folding over' onto itself (just a very thin line, not the 1.5 - 2 inches mentioned above) instead of filling in.
Any thoughts on causes, solutions and/or expenses for those solutions?
Thanks in advance.
There are probably two capacitors that are bad in the vertical circuit. Not too hard to replace if you have any experience at all. Find the vertical output IC ( usually IC451 or similar ) and simply change the closest electrolytic capacitors. A professional can do this easily. Could cost up to $150.
