SOURCE: set nat to open

These routers have a setting underneath the advanced tab (within advanced setup) called UPNP.....all three of the active tick boxes need a tick in (by default they don't) and this will sort the NAT stuff out.

SOURCE: xbox nat settings

You need to enter the router configuration. How you do this varies by model, but usually involves typing your gateway address into a web browser. Then, you need to assign your xbox an internal IP address and activate port triggering or forwarding (depending on the sophistication of your device) to send information on the designated ports to the Xbox.RICHARDM69 Was this solution helpful? My nat is set to strict and I have done all the port forwarding and open ports nothing works i'm very frustrated.

As you said your NAT is set to "Strict" I assume this is about the Xbox 360.

Put the IP Address of your Xbox 360 in the DMZ on your router. Anything in the DMZ is free of all firewall restrictions and all ports are open to this device. Once you place the Xbox 360 in the DMZ your NAT will be Open.

Thank you for using FixYa!

I have this router and have just enabled the NAT settings from Strict to Open:-

1. Log into router's IP address (192.168.1.1) and enter password. Select "Advanced Setup".

2. Click on Advanced on left hand menu and select UPnP

3. Check all three boxes in window and click on Apply

4. Close router configuration window and run XBox test again. Worked for me!

Ok my nat type is strict and i am trying to change to open

You want the NAT open for X-box ?

For X-box you will need to open some ports on the router.

Also you will need to reduce down the MTU on the router to 1365.
That will work.
for this you will need to open the router set up.

I need to change my nat type from strict to open

This router does not have the typical "strict or open" NAT types. Looking at the manual, it looks like what you want is NAT enabled and SUA only enabled.

Page 133 has the details.

Log into router
go to the NAT tab
Enable NAT
Enable SUA only
Apply the change.
