Question about Oregon Scientific MP120 MP3 Player

Open Question

Wont charge Have used this mp3 player maybe a dozen times, went to plug it in to charge it and tranfer songs, saw the battery charge flash with a lign through it, then it turned off, figured it was completly dead so plug it back in and nothing happens now, wont even confirm on the computer that something is plug into the usb, tried cable with a camera and cable is fine. Hopefully someone might have a solution. Thanks

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: My Camera Won't Charge!!!

Your batteries are dead. You can buy them buy doing a search for your model number on your camera, and it will tell what batteries to use.

Try resetting the device it?s usually a small pinhole on the back or side of the device try holding that in for about 10 seconds IF THIS DOES NOT WORK TRY THIS: Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the Coby's website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.

Been using this for a few months. Froze up on same song while on vacation last month, and continued to play same song on repeat until battery went down. Now is frozen with "Do Not Disconnect" as it was being charged on my laptop. Attempted to unplug and plug back in and Windows gives DO NOT DISCONNECT!!!!!

I am having the exact same problem!!!!!

Bad track and Battery

Make sure the hold switch is not engaged.
Remove the songs from the player and then reload them. If they are froma subscription service, make sure they do not have fixed-term licenses on them. Right-click song --> Properties --> digital rights or media usage rights
Use Windows Media Player to view the songs that are stored on your mp3 player - best to view them in the "Sync" tab. Find the song that you want to delete, right-click the song, and select Delete (or left-click and press Delete on your keyboard). Voila!

Hey

Try plugging the unit directly into the computer tower and not use the extension cable, plug it directly into one of the rear ports on your computer. This unit actually hardly ever breaks because its a simple flash drive.

hmm. The hard drive itself could be messed up. The hard drive can easily be formatted by right clicking and formatting it. Though I am taking the easy way out here to fix the problem.

Mp3 Player "File System is Corrupt"

The below was copyed from an earlier post of mine. Over a period of time your info can get corrupt from transering music back and forth. To format plug it in to usb. Go to my computer It shows up as a removably disc, usually drive f: Right click on drive f: (or the approriate drive) and click format. Let me know what happens, you will have reload the player, also try bypassing the software you are using to tranfer, by opening up drive f: and clicking and dragging your music into it , or you can copy and paste it into drive f: L8R
