Question about HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Message: Remove and check ink cartridge

I have removed and replaced the black ink cartridge but keep getting the same message.  Turning it printer on and off does not help.  In this condition, I can not scan, send out going faxes or of course receive faxes either and can not print even just using the color cartridge.

Tell me how to fix the problem or at least use the other functions of the printer/scanner/fax.

Same problem with my All-In-One HP 6110... both cartridges the #56 for color, and the #57 or black ink are the correct cartridges, installed correctly, but it keeps prompting me to press enter to align cartridges... did so 30+ times and each time the page prints out fine except now the ink levels are low. Can't use scanner because I can't get it to stop wanting to align perfectly aligned cartridges.

Have unplugged it, restarted, opened/closed door... etc. HELP!

In response to STP162, the exact message is "Remove and check cartridge.", displaying on the LCD of the printer itself. Accompanying it is an orange flashing "!" light below.

I have tried several things, including changing cartridges, unplugging/reseating everything, and checking for jams.

I once got a "Report job queued" message before it began the "remove and check" message again.

Where did you get the replacement battery from. Do you have the specs. If so would you be so kind as to let me have them.

Hi just fixed my 6110 hp by pulling out spring wire that is on right hand side where black ink cartridge gets inserted i think it was preventing a good contact

i did this after following all other help hints including cleaning heads etc and replacing with new ink now it works perfect hope this works for you too

I worked all afternoon and eve trying to find that battery on the 6110 All In One. It did not have a battery on the left side. Went to Circuit city and pruchased a new HP4380.

Decided to take one last stab at repairing before throwing in the garbage. Finished taking printer apart and found the battery on the circuit board. Took a soldering iron removed battery and replaced. Reassembled printer, with much difficulty, pressed the on button and same error message.

Last step before chunking - removed ink cartridges rubbed thumb on electrical contacts, replaced ink cartridges and everything works super.

Guess the kids now get a color printer......................

Message: Remove and check ink cartridge - icon1.gif Re: HP OfficeJet 6110 destroys my HP 56 ink cartridges regularly SEE BELOW..ALL VERY WELL BUT I STILL CANT FIND THE FLAT BATTERY REFERRED TO !!

There is a service trick, once the printer decides that the cartridge is
bad , you will never get it cleared. So if you open up the lid, as if to
replace the cartridges, you can carefully detach the hinge at the bottom
pivot and open the top wide open. On the Left hand side you will see a
round flat battery - you want to remove the battery and then replace it
after about a minute. Just be careful and ground your body to a metal
part of the case, have ALL cables unplugged before you do touch it and
be carefull as the chips on the circuit board are static sensitive. Also
try not to hold the battery by the top and bottom - it may short circuit
and you will have to replace it.
This will reset the ram and clear the error until it detects again.
If it immediately comes back, then you may very well have a failed printer.

Cannot remove wrong cartridge message from epson printer

If you have tried turning it off and on again, and the problem is still there, then the printers sensors that detect the cartridge type are not getting the signal they expect from the new cartridge. The electrical contacts are probably dirty with ink. Remove the cartridge and try cleaning all the contacts you can see on it and in the printer where it was.

As soon as I started using recycled ink cartridges, I started getting a paper jam error on my printer. The control panel message instructs me to remove the back panel and clear paper jam. I've done this several times but there is no paper to clear and the message keeps coming back. I've tried turning of the printer and unplugging it to clear the memory, but that doesn't help. Could it be that the chip on the ink cartridge is messing with the printer's operating system?

Lexmark 6170 Cartridge Error 50C How to resolve?

"Error 50c". They do, however, mention a "Cartridge Error" on page 52 of the manual. They claim this means that the printer has detected a short circuit (fuse/resister) in the cartridge. As you may or may not have noticed in the manual, this is what they recommend doing about it:

1) Press Power to turn the printer off.

2) Lift the printer cover/lid (scanner unit) until the scanner support holds it open.

3) Turn the printer on.
The ink cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the printer is busy.

4) Remove the color ink cartridge.

5) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.
If the error message displays again, replace the black cartridge with a new black cartridge.

If the error message does not display, repeat steps 1–3 and then go to step 6.

6) Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black ink cartridge.

7) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If the error message displays again, replace the color cartridge with a new
color cartridge.
If there is no error message (indicated by flashing lights), repeat steps 1–3 and then reinstall both ink cartridges.
8) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If you get the error message again, while both cartridges are installed, replace both of the cartridges.

Basically, what they want you to determine is,....if the short circuit is with the "black ink" cartridge or the "color ink" cartridge and then replace the cartridge that has the problem.

You may have to buy a new cartrige.

Keep getting replace yellow ink cartridge error message

Hi,

Where did you get the error message on printer or computer?

If you get the message on printer remove all cartridges and reinsert the cartridges and align the ink cartridges. If the alignment page prints successfully then the problem is resolved.

If you get the message on the computer disconnect the usb from computer. uninstall the software and reinstall the full feature software by selecting connect USB later.

"Remove and check color cartidge."

ok the problem is very common.initially remove both the cartridges.then unplug the printer from main outlet and plug back in.this will reset the printer circuit.then after u on the printer bring back the cartridge carriage to cartridge installation position.then first clean the circuit in the carriage that touches and sense your cartridge circuit with a damp cloth.both colour and black carriage circuit.then clean the cartridge circuit too even if its new.then install both the cartridges and close the door and off the printer again and on it after 30 seconds atleast.then check it should work normally.

Error message 50c on printer

I had the same error message 50c and "color Ink low". I knew that I still had Black Ink, and that is what I just needed for the moment, so I removed the color Ink cartridge and it started working. You'll get a message 'print cartridge missing' but just press continue.
Hope this helps,
