It is actually when we try to turn the computer on. The fan is working and all that, but the computer does not start. We have to turn on and off a couple of times and it will then start. The beeping patten is three beeps, Long, short and short. THanks,

Say we finally got the computer going after switching it on and off a couple of times...How do I do all these memory tasks?

Sounds like its not recognizing the memory, try reseating the memory one stick at a time one slot at a time and see if that works.

Beeps are usually related to memory problems.

Try reseating the memory and also trying removing / switching the memory modules. Try booting just one at a time.

Let me know what happens.

You just remove the memory module on the bottom of the laptop and then just carefully just remove both modules and then try booting the laptop with ONLY 1, test.

Then try the other one. Just use common sense.

ALSO if that doesn't work the dv2000 is part of a major recall. You can check if your model qualifies HERE.

Long beep sound after laptop start ion hp nx9010

1 Long Beep: Memory problem
Explanation: There is a failure of some sort related to the system memory.
Diagnosis: The first bank of memory probably has a failure of some sort; this is usually just a physical problem such as an incorrectly inserted module, but may also mean a bad memory chip in a module. It is possible that there is a failure related to the motherboard or a system device as well.

It wont cut on keep making a beeping sound

beeping sound means that you have a bad power supply. Normally when booting your laptop, the power supply supplies enough power to boot to the operating system. You consult HP to replace your power supply in your laptop.

My HP dv1000 does not start. I checked both adapter and battery ( new ones), but still the problem persists. And the adapter makes a beep sound 2/sec, doens anybody know what it means. Please help me out.

i don't think it's your adapter which beeps, beep indicates Ram problem, does your laptop power on? if it does power on and you don't see anything on the screen then it is because of RAM. Try switching ram to other slot, or get a new ram.

Hp computer will start, all the lights come on but the screen is black.. also.. it makes this loud beeping noise 4 times?? whats wrong?

The beep is more than likely a beep code (sounds stupid and obvious, but they're there for a reason).

What make/model is your machine? We can look up the code by make/model. That will diagnose your problem.
