Water Dispener has an algae like slime in the water.

thats algae / debris settling on bottom the intex filters are small and under powered

Thewre is a good chance your water filter is plugged and needs replacing.

The slime is a function of the water that you are feeding the device. Machine has nada to do with it. Unless you clean up your water supply you will continue to have this problemo.

Use a shop vac( wet/dry vaccum) and as you clean the coils use the vaccum to remove the slime and debris. This slime is caused by particles in the air that has been drawn into the coil during a/c usage. To prevent this slime from continuing to build up you can use a tablespoon of bleach and pour it into the drainage pan this will kill all the algae producing bacteria and will keep your a/c condensate drain in tip top shape. It could be that there is algae growing inside the tank of the filter. You may want to vacuum to waste to get the algae out of the pool and clean out the filter. If you have a Cartridge or DE filter, you will need to do an acid bath for the grids. Take the internal parts out of the filter and clean with bleach water, use bleach water on the tank also.

If you have a sand filter, you will need to empty out the sand, clean internal parts and tank with bleach water then fill with new sand.

DE filter? If so then you need to give the filter an acid bath to purge the dead alge from the filter (Fingers, Grids or Discs). Go with 1part muriatic acid to 3 part water. Let soak overnight. The water should turn almost neon green.Rinse off and reassemble. SHould be Good to go. DE and Cartridge filters should be given an acid bath once a year.

Pink Slime coming out of the Water Dispenser on your Fridge:We contacted our appliance repair guy about this for one of our rental properties. He informed me that the pink slime is an algae formed in the water line. You won't get that out & is it not repairable. The fridge will be condemned if you send out an appliance repairman. It is very crucial to replace the entire fridge, because it is a highly reactive algae that will make people extremely sick!

When you replaced the cartridge did you by chance clean out the unit before putting in the new one? If not, then this is where it is coming from. I would suggest that you take it apart again and make sure that it is clean inside. This slime build up in the filter is completely normal and may also indicate you waited a little too long to replace. It also depends on the type of water you have as well.

run it until the water comes out clear and replace the filter trice.
