Question about Clarion VRX755VD Car DVD Player
I have a Clarion PF-9695 car radio cassette that was exposed to a power surge that resulted from auto mechanic attempting to charge open circuited battery in the car with a high power charger while radio was switched on. It no longer works on radio. Tuning controls, display, clock and cassette still work. Some hiss comes from speakers when volume is turned up indicating I.F. stages still work. Trouble is likely to be in converter stage. It is probably a shorted oscillator transistor or chip. I would like an opinion of my diagnosis and would like know availability and price of semiconductors for this unit. It is from 1995 Subaru Impreza.
