To reconnect the 2 jumper wires in my Acer internal wifi card.

Hi there,
I disconnected the internal wi fi card in an Acer 5920 laptop. I have 2 wires to reconnect to it to finish. Question is where do they attach to: post number 1, post number 3 or post number 2? It's labled in that order on the card. I have a black wire and a white wire to reconnect.

Help Me OBee Wahn Kanobee, You're My Only Hope!

Thanks, Paul

CONTINUAL DISCONNECTION OF WIRELESS CONNECTION
There are a few things that can cause you to lose wireless connection with your wireless router. 1. Weak signal strength, check the signal strength on your wireless card. If it is weak move the wireless router away from brick or concrete walls, mirrors, fish tanks and if possible locate the wireless router higher up. 2. Have you secured your wireless router from people near your from unauthorized access? i.e. change the default password, setup encryption use WPA2 or WPA, change the default SSID, and turn off SSID broadcast, and for added protection, enable MAC address filtering which allows only the MAC address/es of your wireless card/s to connect to your wireless router. 3. You could be getting interference from electrical sources such as air conditioners, arc welders, washing machines etc. If so, the power supply to the wireless routers and computers etc should be connected to a surge protection power board, better still connect your computer equipment to an UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply). 4. Check the channels of the wireless routers and access points in your area and change the broadcast channel on your wireless router to an unused channel or one that is currently used but has the weakest signal strength. This will minimize interference with your wireless router from other wireless routers and access points in your area.

Insirion E1505: Missing Wi-Fi device

I would not open up one of these animals if I could avoid it! Go to the bios, "Disable" the Wi-Fi. Re-boot and ensure NO Wi-fi AT ALL in "Device Manger". If you have the software for the Wi-fi (May be on the System disk that came with the machine) go to "Remove Programs" and take out any software for this device. Shut down completely. Leave for a couple of mins. Re-start and go into bios. Re-enable Wi-Fi and re-boot. re-install software IF requested. Good Luck! Ian.

Hi,

This method will hard reset the wireless drivers back to default settings, but before you perform this remove power from the modem and router for 2 minutes reconnect power and wait another 2 minutes for them to settle down.

Go to your laptop, right click "computer" select "manage" and then "device manager", a list will populate, then click on the + sign next to "network adapters" and right click on the wireless adapter and "uninstall" the device, reboot the PC and wait for windows to detect the wireless card and install the drivers for it, this will appear in the system tray (bottom right hand side) when its done try to connect again.

Good luck

I am unable to install my wi fi

it really depends on what wi-fi card you have, the best way to check is to go to control panel, system, device manager, check for the yellow question mark by wireless cards, then it should tell you what wireless card is in there so you can obtain drivers.
Or check your laptop manufactures website, drivers are 90% of the time available on their, have you also checkd that your router is wireless enabled and that the secuirty keys and wireless settings match up?#

cheers
