LG VX5200 Battery issue

Yesterday, I turned my phone on and it said: "Use Genuine Battery. -Power Off- 10" The 10 counts to 0 and the phone shuts off. I have the original battery and have never let it run completely out of power. If I did something to it (water, etc.) I think this would have happened right away.

Re: LG VX5200 Battery issue

Sounds like a mfg. defect. I have never had a phone on Verizon system do that, or an LG but I would be curious to see if it kept on occurring once you get a generic battery from a reputable online site.

Whe.i try to turn it on it says verizon for while and then it says use genuine battery and it counts down 10-0 and it shuts of.

there is some sort of problem with your battery, it has (some) reason to think that the battery installed is not made well/ by their company and cannot operate because it does not have the proper power output. getting a new battery will fix the problem. remember to vote

My LG dare has a battery problem. when i go to turn on the phone, it says "use genuine battery....Power Off." Then counts back from 10 and turns itself off. what does this mean?

The batter has failed, you need a new battery, take it to the store if it is under warranty call your service provider and they will either issue you a new battery or a new phone.

LG VX5200 when I power on screen says - use

Same problem here, I have found no solution yet. I have an OEM battery. With mine though it doesnt say the battery message, just keeps restarting. I hate LG phones, they almost BY DESIGN only last 12-18 months.

Lg vx8100 error message on screen: use genuine battery. power off 10 sec cuts off

Not exactly a solution. I tried leaving it off overnight and tried it several times after removing and inserting the batteries. I also cleaned the contacts with contact cleaner and a Q tip. It did not fix it. But I just left it off for 2 days meaning to go to the Verizon store and get it fixed or replaced. But I turned it on now and it fixed itself! Model VX8300. Maybe the contact cleaning did it but it had to dry more. You can use a Q Tip dipped in a cup of water with a teaspoon of Mr.Clean. But then rinse it with a water wet Q tip and then dry it with a paper towel. I used contact cleaner.
