Question about Sirius Sportster 4 SP4-TK1 Satellite Radio Receiver with Car Kit
Mine did the same thing. I opened it up and looked at solder joints (with a jewlers loop eyepiece) where antenna jack solders to board and found solder joint cracked (from constantly handling docking station and reciever) . Re-soldered and now its ok again. TaaaaDaa

I've had the same problem, but it appears to be with the actual magnet portion of the antenna. I've had it running without error for over a year and have had Sirius for 3 years. My old unit wore out due to my insertion and removal of the unit for security reasons. The current unit appears to have gotten some water in the magnet portion mounted on my roof. The signal goes in and out when I go over bumps or have a quick stop or start, suggesting something is getting jogged. I suspect a drop of water. There are electronics inside the magnet piece, similar to a chip or PC card. Antenna replacement is the least frustrating solution I've found. Try www.tss-radio.com or your local dealer. I think the site may have better prices, but if you don't want to wait like me, the store is the best bet. Make sure you don't pick up an XM antenna by mistake.

The connectors in the bottom of the radio and the base mount can wear out or get dirty. I do not know how many insertions the connectors are good for but it looks like they didn't use a connector designed for enough insertions. Mine has displayed the same problem. I have two antennas and it is displaying "antenna not detected" with both.
