Question about Sony Televison & Video

1 Answer

No cable, no original remote, no auto programing.

I have a Sony kv27hsr10 television that is working fine as an extra display/speakers for my laptop, but has stymied all efforts to hook it up to cable services. None of the inputs on the back is labeled for the cable, and hooking up to the VHF (or any other) port just yields a black screen with the channel display. Sony tells me that I need to run Auto Program, and to do that they say that I the original remote (which I don't have, and Sony no longer makes). Is there another way either to program the TV or to hook it up to cable?

Would it work to find another remote that has an auto program feature? Also, the link you posted doesn't even have the original remote, it has a substitute that it says will work, which makes me believe that other options are possible.

I am sorry to inform you that you will need the remote to program this television. There are no other ways to program this set without it. The autoprogram button is on the remote and not on the set.
A replacment remote is available from the following link.
http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=gmi&smodel=KV27HSR10&brand_pn=SONY_KV27HSR10&mode=large&uuid=12421718035880

I have the same set and had the same problem.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

As long as the remote can control the television it should work like the original.

Hi,
Please open the manual of the KP-53V45 TV by clicking here. To program the channels in the TV, make sure that the cable is connected to the TV using the Coaxial VHF-UHF cable. Select the Auto Program option to program the channels in the TV. Press the MENU button select SETUP MENU and then select AUTO PROGRAM option to scan all the channels in the TV.

How to tune channels first time when you purchase a new Sony Kdl 32EX600 LED tv?

Hello
Do connection to the antena if you wants to set the TV auto tuned.
During this initial setup, you can perform the following:

1 Select the language for the on-screen display text.
2 Select HOME or Retail mode. [Here you have to select "Home" mode if the set displays "Retail"

3 Connect cable or antenna, then select OK to run Auto
Program

• If you have cable and antenna available, please connect cable first.

• IMPORTANT: Auto Program is only effective when cable or

antenna is connected. If you cancel Auto Program before completion some channels may not be
available.

4 Auto Program will scan for available channels from the signal source directly connected to

the TV's CABLE/ANTENNA input and may take sometime to complete the process. Follow
the help text provided on the screen to run Auto Program.
OK.

I have a sony (model KP61V75) a split screen came on (two pictures) and I cannot figure out how to get it back to one screen. Im going crazy!

Some television remote controls have a PIP OFF button, while others only have a PIP button that needs to be pressed repeatedly until the PIP/Twin-View window disappears.

NOTES:

  • Some Sony rear projection televisions have a FLASH FOCUS button that will turn off the PIP/Twin-View feature.

  • Some Sony universal remote controls, if programmed to operate a Sony TV, can disable the PIP/Twin-View feature by pressing the REC or ENT button.

  • If the original TV remote control is not available or is not functioning properly, auto programming the television tuner orperforming a power reset may deactivate the PIP/Twin-View feature.

  • If pressing the appropriate buttons on the TV remote control does not work, then the PIP/Twin-View window might be from a two-tuner cable or satellite set-top box. If this is the case, use the remote control provided with the set-top box to remove the PIP/Twin-View window.

I just got a Sony Trinatron Wega tv model no KV224FS120 poweer & display are fine; need help programming available channels from remote

Are you using a Cable or SAT service or is the coax cable plugged directly into the TV? If it is directly plugged into the tv, select Menu from the TV remote. Find either Sources or Connections to display how the TV signal is to be received. Select "Cable" not "Air" and let it auto program. This will take several minutes. Be sure when complete to select "TV" from the Input button on the remote.

If you are using a Cable or SAT service, the TV should be on 2, 3 or 4. Some units have a button on the back of the tv for confirmation. Please follow up and confirm this resolved the problem and/or add information from my questions.

TV won't "talk" with satellite cable

Try to see if you have 5volts for your EEPROM. If the voltage is normal try to replace your EEPROM or try to reprogram it. Your EEPROM is corrupted so that's why it will not store data.
