Question about Verizon Communications enV2 Cellular Phone

2 Answers

Wet phone... My enV2 got wet yesterday, while I was at the beach. I took the battery out, about a minute after it got wet, and attempted to dry off the whole thing as much as I could. When I got home that night, I put it in a ziploc of rice in hopes that the rice would help get the moisture. Maybe two hours after that, I rinsed it, after reading somewhere that the salt would cause problems, and then put it back in the rice. I've left it in there all day, but it still won't work. Should I give it more time? or am I going to have to get a new phone?

Friend, Base from my experienced as a mobile technician. This is based from my experimentation and i got it very succesful. I've been using for how many years and perfect no failure. It is very Easy.Friend remove the battery.dissasemble your phone.separate the plastics and the metal ones. Those plastics parts you may clean it with cloth.while the metal parts.you need to soke that in a "lacquer thinner"the one being use for enamel paint. Put the thinner on a glass container and then all the metal parts.you soke it for 3 hrs.or more if you want.it will not damage. Thinner will remove all the water and other dirt on the parts of the mainboard. and since it can easily be dry thats why we are using it. After soking you let the part dry.after about 1 hr.or if you hair dryer or electic fan you may use it to dy the parts. After drying you assemble the unit firmly and carefully. And 100% it will work again.but donot use the battery anymore replace it with new one.good luck

More than likely your phone probably got shorted through your charging port. it doesn't take alot of moisture for this to happen.however you might luckout by just getting a new battery. generally if it shorts out most often times the phone doesn't suffer the same effect.

Wet digital camera

I have had a camera do this before and I left it in a bowl rice for about a week. Then it turned right on. Since rice will absorb the moisture we cant find or see. But I would make sure to take it apart as much as possible. :) Hope that works. GL

Phone got wet & works fine but says network error

Cell phones do not recover gracefully from getting wet internally. The electronics were not made to get wet.
You would be better served to get a new phone. Getting a cell phone wet is almost alway death to the electronics, even if the phone is dried out completely, The problems caused by the damp electronics will cause strange and intermittent problems.

Sidekick 2008 got wet

I dropped a phone in the toilet once, a T-mobile phone. it took a couple of days for it to dry out completely. Then I snapped it back together, and it was fine. Being that yours just got wet, and not immersed is different though, so you may want to take it into T-mobile and see if they can check it out for you because then you will know for sure what is going on. Good luck.

Wet phone

Did you try taking out the battery and letting it dry. Depending on how wet it got, your battery may need to dry out or the phone is damaged. My friend dropped his in the shower, took 2 days for the battery to dry out and it was fine.
