Infocus IN35 projector has vertial lines covering the images

I'm trying to show a powerpoint presentation on my laptop, but it's covered with horizental lines resulting from the projector. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the lamp or the laptop. The projector is relatively new so I'm not sure why this is happening. I hooked up two seperate laptops, byut the same thing happens. Any ideas?

They are black lines and they are spaced evenly. images will, however, appear through the lines.

Usually this is a problem with the lamp. Sometimes you get a faulty lamp. Otherwise the board is bad if the lamp isn't or you may even have a bad cable between the computer and the projector. I would first try a new cable, then a new lamp. Are the lines any certain color and are they spaced evenly? Let me know if you have any further questions.

Ok, yeah most likely the cable or the lamp then. If under warranty, get it replaced for free or return and get a different one. let me know how it goes

My dell d630 laptop wont recognize my infocus lp70+ remote control and I can't advance my powerpoint slides with the remote control

Here's what the User's Manual says:

Using the Remote Control

To advance PowerPoint slides with the projector's remote, you

must connect the USB cable on the projector's computer cable to

the computer. See page 8 for more information.

Point the remote control at the projection screen or at the front or

rear of the projector (not at the computer). The range for optimum

operation is about 30 feet. If you point the remote at the

projection screen, the distance to the screen and back to the projector

must be less than or equal to 30 feet. For best results, point

the remote directly at the projector.

If you are displaying presentations in Microsoft® PowerPoint®,

you can use the remote's Previous and Next buttons to navigate

through your presentation while in Slide Show mode.

Infocus IN35 Power Problem

check the interlock switch for the lamp door (on the fan bracket). if the switch doesn't work, the projector won't turn on. also check to see if the ribbon cable for the top case buttons is connected well. if still a no-go, it is the power supply (part # 510-2189-00). if you want to try and fix it instead of purchase it, start with the caps. some of them bulge and some tend to dry out prematurely without physical damage showing. start with the large one in the middle. you should at least get 5v from one of the points. you won't get any more unless you get a signal from the main board turning the rest of the power supply on. and there's where the problem may lie.

Screen goes blank momentarily

cover up the infrared remote sensor on the projector. The heat of these colours or something might be messinf with the infrared remote sensor. TRy this and see what happens. It may just be bad contacts. Some projectors just cant handle stuff like this. Some were meant for presentations and presentations only. BUt seriously try covering the remote sensor to see what happens. If it is an older projector the infrared signal detector might be sensitive to bright light or stuff like that.
