Question about Fargo 4250 Thermal Printer
Bought a USED Fargo 4250 card printer. Cleaned it; installed new full color ribbon; adjusted it so that card jams and no-feeds were eliminated. Ran self-test print - cards run through; display says printer is printing; cards come out blank. Suggestions?
Take the ribbon out, and rewind it a little bit and see if you see print on it. if you dont, chances are your printhead is either bad or has loose cables going into it.
if you do see print, either your card is not aligning properly or the head lift motor might not be working (when the unit on, open the door, and press both buttons at the same time and see if the printhead does an up and down motion), platen roller is bad

If you see the image or text on the ribbon but nothing on the card and you have already tested the head lift motor try one more thing before you order a print head or start opening the assembly.
when the display shows printing (different colors) take a look in the output slot and see if you see the card moving back and forth. If not check the roller on the bottom changing that one or just cleaning it should resolve the problem.
