Unit has no power nor is display lit up. Have power to cord. tripped breaker. is there an internal fuse behind control panel

Microwave ovens have an internal fuse to protect the unit. Once you remove the white cover it is easily located on a board where the main power cable first goes into. Despite what you hear about dangerous radiation generated by microwave it is sage to turn on the microwave with the white cover off because the radiation stays within the microwave cavity. If you buy pass the door interlock then you may be exposed to some radiation escaping from the door opening. No match can go wrong in a microwave. Usually its something simple like a bad connection a burned fuse .or a burned power supply if it is microprocessor based unit.

Has no display

Arnie, if the inside light does not come on when you open the door, you most likely have a blown fuse. Un-plug your microwave and if you take the cover off and look to see where the power cord comes into the back of the unit. You will need to look for where the black wire from the power cord attaches to a small circuit board. Right where it attaches will be where you usually find the fuse for the unit. Normally most microwaves run on an 15 amp fuse but some use a 20 amp instead. It will be etched into one end of the fuse what size you are going to need. You also need to make sure that you get a ceramic fuse when you get it. Most appliance repair shops will probably carry the fuse or be able to point you in the right direction for getting one.

Sharp carousal convection smart+easy does it have a fuse just died

First check is the main fuse of the unit. On countertop units, you will need to take the shell off. The fuse will be close to where the cord comes through into the unit. OTR units, this main fuse is usually behind the control panel or possibly behind the vent. Usually the fuse is obvious if blown, otherwise test with an OHM meter, if open, replace fuse.
Some brands will also have a thermal cut-off fuse in the incoming voltage line to the control board. Older Maytags and Samsungs have this fuse in it. This thermostat looking fuse is usually above the oven cavity somewhere under the outside shell. Sometimes you can get to it through the vent of OTR models. Test with an OHM meter, replace if open.
use the VOM, God bless you

It jus stopped working as soon as i set the timer to 3mins jus light switched on for a second and its gone,,,i checked the power output in the plug point its burning smell and all...this oven is...

in most cases the reason for microwaves shutting down without warning is the fuse. in some cases the fuse will fail at its own fault. to test the fault we would do a tollerence test on the unit. but the best way for you to test it is to replace the ceramic fuse with another of the same value. if the unit works then its a faulty fuse. if the unit blows the fuse then the unit has a fault in the power supply that needs to be repaired by a service tech.

My Panasonic The Genius microwave just stopped working not getting any power to display. Wondering if it is the fuse and where that would be located.

HI, if this unit is totally dead, this may be a power inverter issue. there is a fuse located on this board inside the unit. you will need to gain access to this board and fuse by removing the outer cover. there should be a few screws on the outside of the microwave to remove.

Check the In-line fuse for its value. if the fuse is good, replace the power unit(inverter board)

No display will not operate no fan no light

Ok, there is an in-line fuse that is located inside the unit on the power supply board. if this fuse is damaged, replace it. If this fuse is ok, replace the entire power supply board.

Brother put a foil wraped burger in micro now everything is dead

Hi, You may want to try to check/troubleshoot the PCB underneath the display/control panel. The mains do supply two circuitries: the heavy load and the electronics. In some units, they have a standard transformer while in others an SMPS that supplies the +5 (and sometimes +12 or higher) voltage. This powers the electronics which includes a microcontroller, timer, relay drivers and display panel. Trace the transformer/SMPS and look for any fusible link, secondary fuse or surface mounted fuse. More often than not, there are also standard components along the way like bride diode, diode, filter capacitor and regulator IC. Check for VDC input and output of power components. Hope this gives you an idea, Pls post again how things turn up or if you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.
