You should put the iPod into a bowl of DRY rice for at least 24 hours. Making sure that the iPod is completely covered by the rice. This will help pull any remaining moisture from the iPod. After allowing it to dry out completely, reconnect it to your computer. If it does not turn on right away, attempt to reset it. If that fails leave the iPod touch connected to your computer for at least an hour and attempt the reset again. If at this point it still does not work please do let me know. Below I have posted a step by step on restoring your iPod touch just in case you need the information. :) ---------------------------------------------------

To reset Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

I pod not keeping charge

You will have to dismantle ipod and clean any corrosion of motherboard(may be causing shorting) with a soft toothbrush and some isopropanol alcohol also bottom of dock connector.Have a good look under a magnifying glass to see if any physical corrosions of pins etc. Dry off board and reassemble with new battery.
Try it out.
Some pins etc depending on corrosion my need resoldered.
First thing to go is the charging circuit on the battery when wet.

At first my ipod wouldnt charge a few days after it wouldnt turn on. i have an ipod touch if that helps

First I would try a different charger for it, often the metal contacts inside the chargers can corrode just a little bit and prevent the electricity from charging your ipod and sometimes they just bend from general wear and tear. If the problem is not in the charger, then it is with your ipod itself. Unless you are familiar with opening and working on electronics yourself it would be easier to send it back to apple describing the problem and have them fix it. They usually have no problem with this (as they want to keep their customers faithful) unless the cause can be linked to product abuse.
Goodluck!

Needle jumps back an forth between charging and charged.

Did you try it on a different battery? These automatic chargers won't charge unless they detect a little bit of voltage and not a direct short. Your battery might be shorted out. Good luck, Al K

I have the memorex Mi4004 and it won't charge my ipod touch. I have to third generation ad it is 8GB.

Hi, I do have the solution, the Memorex Mi400 clock radio does not itself support charging of the iPod touch. last model supported was the iPod video 5g. There may be a way around this however, I have an iPod sound system that doesn't support charging either-however it has a ipod charging port on the back-if I plug in my iPod touch's charger there it charges, so I would look on the back of your clock radio to see if there is a connector that looks like the one on the bottom of your iPod touch. Plug charger in there and you'll be good to go. I hope this was helpful and thanks for choosing FixYa-good luck, Prodzilla.

My iPod won't charge. How do I get it working>

Thank you for your question.
If the battery icon on your screen is red, you need to charge your ipod immediately. Try charging it overnight. If it is not charged in the morning, there is a good chance your charger is dead.
Make sure the AC outlet you are plugging the charger into is definitely working. In some cases, you may need to bend the prongs on your charger just a little bit so they make better contact with the outlet.
If you have a car charger, or DC charger, try charging it in the car. If it works, your AC charger needs to be replaced.
If it doesn't charge, you may need to send your iPod in for service or take it to the Apple store.

My vtech 5831 handset charger won't charge brand new batteries

did you check your charger if it is working?mostly of the charger are malfunctioning its chord or wires.
also try to clean the charger connector of the unit where you can see at the bottom..Clean it with cotton buds to wet of rubbing alcohol.you just rub it to the connector of the handset itself and the connector of the charger itself.

Charger

Oh, well an iPod cannot live without a computer. The dock connector/data transfer cable is a charger itself. It will charge from the computer itself, and will transfer data also when connected and charging.
You can use a separately sold USB Wall Adapter from Apple to charge the iPod from a wall socket. The adapter has a slot to insert the USB Cable and it charges.
