Question about Routers

I have to 'Dongle' my way to the internet!

I have had to resort to a Belkin dongle to receive the Internet as I seem to have a suspect ethernet connection problem. The appropriate led (1 of 4) lit until I pressed the 'reset' button for 40 seconds, as instructed by Belkin's Help Line. I see that the red led adjacent to the ethernet port on the back of the tower is no longer lit. I've tried a new ethernet cable - no joy.

I tried powering down and up several times and have substituted the ethernet cable. Could I perhaps have damaged the unit by pressing the reset button?

Reset shouldn't hurt anything.  The box may have died but the reset didn't do it.

Trying to connect to internet the tv recognises the router but then says contact your provider as the DNS Server number is wrong i have contacted my provider AOL they have checked my router set up and

Check first if you have the right Dongle, and if it is connected to the right USB Slot.
The Dongle must be right for Model, and Brand, and it must be inserted into the HDD USB Slot only.
Then the Dongle and TV will install themselves. Wait a few minutes then Press "Source". It should be loaded.

Hi there, i hav jus got a new netbook of the internet and i have already got a 3g dongle, however when i put my dongle in the netbook it is not comming up with it to install it:/ however the dongle is...

The internet dongle contains the drivers/ software in it and when you connect it with the PC, it automatically runs the setup.exe file and installs it. It its not running the setup automatically, try the following steps: -
Locate the removable drive
Right-click on it and choose "AUTO RUN"
Else, Open the removable drive (of dingle) and run setup.exe.
This will install the necessary drivers and software for dongle.
Please note that the blinking light of the dingle only indicates that it is connected to the PC and its ready for use. But you cannot use is unless drivers/ software is installed.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

Wreless devices causing modem to drop out requiring reset to connect to internet. Works fine with belkin wireless adapter. Lg dongle for HDD recorder and Mobile phone both cause problem. Is there any fixes...

You're better off buying a better, new router (one that includes a "Self Healing" feature that will basically reboot the router automatically on a set schedule). Also, try a different brand, Belkin is infamous for making routers that constantly drop connections.

P660HW-D1 Router not working wireless

Problem with the Zyxel P-660?   I experienced:
1. laptop would see the wireless 660HW briefly and then it would disappear.   2. laptop would not see wireless at all. 3.  same issue with desktop when using USB wireless 11g dongle 4. no problem on wired connection (ethernet)
EASY solution!   if Zyxel is set to scan for a channel it will want to work on channel 13 nearly every time in a busy environment.
HP laptops and many receivers cannot recieve on 13 -  highest channel is 12.
Pick on setting for the Zyxel which matches an available channel on your receiver.  Problem solved.

Connecting 3 mobile internet dongle to draytek 2800vg via its usb port

Make sure to install the drivers that came with the internet dongle. Just run the setup CD the that came with it, when it asks you to plug the dongle, please do. That should guide you through the whole setup process.
