Question about Foxconn P4M9007MB-8RS2H Motherboard

PC wont boot up unless i press reset button!!!

I hope some one can help me - i have a foxxonn P4M9007MB motherboard which i installed after my GigaByte board started giving me issues. Now everything is wroking fine - the only thing is that on initial boot up the pc freezes at the foxconn splash screen, and doesnt boot into windows unless i press the reboot/reset button on front of pc case.

once this button is pressed the computer starts up again, the foxconn splash screen apears then windows boots up without any issues and the pc runs with no problems whatsoever.

What could be causing the pc to hang the first time it is turned on? any help would be great - its driving me nuts!!

thanks for your time.

Usually on motherboards if you :-
1. disconnect it from the power supply
2. hold the power on button in for 10 seconds
3. remove the battery on the motherboard for about 5 mins then replace
when you re boot your motherboard will be reset back to default settings.
You will have to press delete or F1 as you re boot so you can enter the bios to reset the time. then select default settings press F10, save and enter.
as it reboots this time press F8 to enter the windows boot menu select repair my PC from here you should be able to use system repair to roll windows back to a previous configuration.

It wont come on. it wont turn on

Try a hard reset. Sometimes it works and is always the first step to take.
Remove the battery and the ac adapter plug from the laptop.
Press and hold the power button for fifteen seconds.
Install either the battery and A/C adapter .Now just press the power button to attempt a boot into the OS.

Contract for further instructions.
Hope this helps.

When i put it on, it gives the message operating system not found,

Try this. Turn on the computer. While booting, enter the bios setup and check if your hard drive is detected by the motherboard. If not, turn off the computer and refresh the connections of the cable from hard drive to Motherboard (both ends) and power plug on the hard drive. Then turn on the computer again and check if the hard drive is detected. If detected, check the boot device priority. The OS hard drive should be on the first boot. Save your settings (press f10) and enter. Hope this helps.

P4vmm2 wont boot up

Disconnect power cord, remove the button cell battery, press the power button to dissipate any stray volts, replace button cell, plug in cord and re-boot, this will reset bios to default settings.

You will get a check sum error so enter bios to re-set date time and other settings.

Rebbot to factory settings

Hi bgreenejr,

Are you referring to the BIOS or OS?

If you’re referring to the BIOS settings, you can do this by accessing it and selecting "set to factory default" from the menu. The most common way to access it is by pressing the DEL button upon boot up; there are however, a lot of branded PC and laptops may use a different button like F2 or F12, etc; if you’re BIOS is locked, of course you’ll need the password to log-in.

Another and common method of resetting it to factory default is by shorting the CMOS reset jumper located in your motherboard, usually it’s the closest jumper to the battery or the CMOS chip. This does not require any password, actually this is the method used if you forget your BIOS password. I would suggest that you consult your motherboard or computer’s documentation on how to locate the CMOS reset jumper on it.

If you are referring you your operating system, the only sure way to reset it to default settings is if you do a clean install, that means re-formatting your pc and re-doing everything again, kinda messy, unless you can do a system restore that would revert it back to the original date and time when you first install the system, . Hope this helps

Cheers and best regards,
