2003 Chevy Trailblazer brake pedal not releasing. When turning and brakes tapped briefly they continue to brake until complete stop. When stopped and foot off brake 10 sec delay before pedal releases

Sounds like your ABS unit on its way out.
with the engine off, pump the pedal till its hard. keep your foot on the pedal pushed down and start the engine. your pedal should become light and continue down to the "floor".

Hi.

Below the procedure to reset ECU,Throttle and to perform Accelerator Position Learning on Nissan. It works on Titan, Altima, Infinity, pathfinder and other models.

ECU Resetting

While performing the procedures below, ensue that you are respecting the times stated. If the steps are not done within the specified times, the module will not reset. You will need to use a watch or a chronograph while performing the procedures.

Procedure:

8. Turn the ignition switch to “OFF” position and start the vehicle. If procedure has been done correctly, then the light light will turn off.
If the light continues to stay on, repeat the procedure.

Accelerator Pedal Release Position Learning

Procedure

1. Ensure that the accelerator pedal is completely released before starting the procedure.
2. Turn the ignition switch “ON” and wait at least 2 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition switch “OFF”, and wait at least 10 seconds.
4. Turn the ignition switch “ON” and wait 2 seconds.
5. Turn the ignition switch “OFF” and wait 10 seconds.

Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning

Procedure

1. Ensure that accelerator pedal is completely released.
2. Turn ignition switch to the “ON” position.
3. Turn ignition switch to the “OFF” position and wait at least 10 seconds.
Ensure that the throttle valve moves after turning the switch off.

Idle Air Volume Learning (Throttle Position Learning)

Procedure

1. Follow the Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning described above.
2. Do the Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning also described above.
3. Start the engine, and allow warming up.
4. Turn the ignition on “OFF” positionand wait 10 seconds.

When driving my 99 cougar and shifting into neutral at a stop sign/stop light my car remains at high idle and grinds teeth when I put it back in first. What could be the problem?

Sounds like the gearbox. But the test is this: Engage 1st and start slowly releasing the clutch pedal DONT HIT THE GAS. The engine should gradually fade out and bog down when the pedal is completely released. If the engine just bogs down at some point, or the fading is not gradual, the clutch is damaged. If you hear grinding its the gearbox.

2008 GMC Sierra pickup. Driving and all of a sudden it shut off then turned back on; the doors unlocked then locked again. Now it won't do anything. Checked the oil and it was empty - no oil at

Running with no oil is death for the motor ( Seized). When the alternator stopped working because the engine stopped the door lock control opened the door locks as it said you were below the required speed to have them locked

Have to push the pedal to the floor to get car to stop. Fluid levels fine.

If the pedal really is going down to the floor you must have air in the system and you are compressing it. It is possible to get a very minor leak that lets air in but very little fluid out. If the pedal is going down to the usual level your servo could be acting up. If you get somebody to run the engine and then stop it and press the brake pedal while you listen under the bonnet you should be able to hear the air rush in when the atmospheric valve opens. If it doesn't you may have a leaking hose or the atmospheric valve is not working properly.
Another possibility is seized pistons in your calipers or they are rusted up and sticking. If you jack the car up and get someone to press the brake pedal and see if it locks each wheel in turn, when they take their foot off the pedal you should be able to turn the wheel by hand. If the wheels don't lock when the foot brake is applied or don't unlock when the pedal is released the problem is probably either sticking disc pads or seized pistons.

I have a sears craftsman riding lawnmower LT2000 model #917.273751 18hp intek engine 42in deck.Engine runs fine but when I release the clutch-brake pedal engine stalls.seems like an intermitent problem...

There are other safety switches as well. The electrical diagram shows (2) of the interlock switches (part no. 16 in diagram) in the electrical system. The location of the 2nd one could be on the transmission or the clutch/brake pedal. It could also be on the PTO system (blade actuator if you will). See if you can find the other switch on your unit. I have an LT1000 and have NOT looked for them. Here is an electrical diagram on your unit.

My 97 gran prix overheated and shut itself. And now won't start. The Atifrz leaked out and engine overheated.

sometimes when an engine gets hot enough it will stop running due to the metal expansion when it is hot.if it cools off it will probably start but don`t run it very long especially without coolant.the thermostat may have seized in the closed position this sometimes happens as when the car is running the temperature flucuates the stat will close and open all the time(won`t close completely).another problem could be a bad head gasket that allowed coolant into the combustion chamber enough that the motor went into what is called hydraulic lock, coolant has filled the combustion chamber enough that the piston won`t move through out its normal travel.i would try changing the thermostat first refill cooling system and let run until the cooling fans have cycled on and off.if it doesn`t overheat and it cranks over when you try to start it then the stat is more than likely the problem.

Replaced rear brake pads, now there is a hissing sound coming from brake pedal when i start it , come to complete stop and after i turn car off .what is the hissing or air pressure release sound coming...

There are 2 things that can use vacuum near the brake pedal. If you have cruise control, there is a safety switch on the pedal to shut off the curise when you apply the brake. This switch may be leaking.
The other part is the brake booster, which is actually in the engine compartment but bolts to the firewall, and your brake pedal mechanism pushes into the booster. You will need to get your head under the dash with the engine running and press on the pedal to locate the leak--on the switch or on the wall.
