Blade too close to ground

I can't find my manual and my husband is out of town. I think my tires are too low because the blades are tearing up my grass and it keeps dying. Do I need to move them forward or back?

Move them foward to raise wheel height. you can confirm by moving to full foward posistion on front wheels then adjust down to get height you desire.and repeat with back wheels and set accordingly. hope this helps..chris

How do I level the deck on a John Deere X500 mower

FInd and buy a deck level guage (makes it so much easier) photo.25191349-sc2hyhwnmj3wm0xvqhiyjoyo-1-0_0.jpgAdjust the front tire pressures to 14 psi. Set the rear tires to 10 psi. Make sure that the mower is on level ground, concrete driveway or garage floor. Set you deck height knob to 2.5 inches. Move the blades to where the blade tips are pointing to the side of the mower deck. Level the deck side to side by adjusting the lift link nuts,15mm or 17mm wrench. Get the side to side as level and possible and close to a number or mark on the guage. Move the blade tips to the front of the mower deck. Check the front to back and have a 1/8" to 1/4" lower on the front of the blades than the back. 18mm and 19mm wrenches for the front adjusting bracket.

Craftmans mover blade keeps hitting ground

Is the deck too low or one side lower than the other? Level the deck side to side, front should be a little lower than back (about 1/4 inch). check tires for correct air pressure. Make sure blades are balanced.

I have a 28-560 can not tighten blade, new blade 82 and new rubber on wheels blade rubbs against switchs

Then you either need a blade shorter than 82" or the blade that you think is 82" is actually longer than that. It is also possible that the new tires you put on are a little thinner than the ones you took off.

I am going through my husbands tools. We have a Ryobi Saw-all and I notice it has different blades. I can not find the manual. I simply want to change the blade for cutting iron that is currently inserted...

To change blades, a hex-wrench is required and you simply tighten or loosen the allen screw that holds the blade, but unfortunately the saw's design is a bit flawed. It takes a bit of "feeling around" to locate the proper position for the blade changing wrench because the fitting is not visible through the rubberized boot. You can certainly trim and prune trees with the saw, but make sure that the branch is at least 10% thinner than the length of the blade. I do not know your Manzanita tree, but if the wood is wet it should present no problem. Any power saw is extremely dangerous if used at an elevated height like on a ladder. If the ladder slips, there seems to be an almost unnatural tendency to grab for the saw and very often the moving blade. Take the utmost care at all times with power tools. (I have a friend who point blank refuses to use a chain saw unless both his feet are firmly planted on the ground, and he is over 6 foot).

Tire comes off top wheel almost all the time. Tire comes off bottem wheel sometimes. Don't know how to set up this saw.

My jet bandsaw did same thing only fix was new tires .Tires are supposed to be tite on wheel .get wood dowels between tire and wheel and roll new tire onto wheel. If desperate could glue on with weather strip adhesive.put bandsaw blade on both tires spin wheels with power off till blade is running in center of wheel by adjusting top wheel in or out. When done adjust blade guides to blade and bearings to back of blade .This is top and bottom of cutting area

The riding mower doesn't cut evenly...one side cuts higher than the other...

The following steps will make any riding mower cut evenly.
1. The rear tires must be the same diameter i.e. same tread type and the same tire pressure (check it before each mowing).
2. Level the deck following the instructions in the manual and recheck it occasionally
3. Make sure the blade(s) are not damaged and kept sharp, rounded blades tear instead of cut.
4. Make sure the deck and its attachment points are not bent or damaged.
5. Drive at a slow walking speed with the engine at cutting speed.
6. Over lap rows in amounts sufficient to lift and cut the tire tracks from the previous pass.
7. Cut the grass at intervals that ensures you never have cut more than 1/3rd the total length of the grass.
8. Make sure the underside of the deck is clean.
9. Use a blade style that matches the type of grass you most often mow.

My husband is out of town and I want to use the reciprocating saw to cut a wooden curtain rod (1-2 inches thick. The owner's manual is MIA. How do I use this thing? Where's the blade?

the blades are usually in the case.its simple just place what you want to cut in front of the blade with the metal bottom of saw touching the object to be cut and pull the trigger.

Blade is walking off the tire.

There should be a tilt adjustment on the TOP wheel, this is what adjusts the tracking (centering of the blade) on the wheels. Watch the tension adjustment too, not enough will allow the blade to walk off
