error loading os it is a D300avery clearly states that board does not supports OS untill bios is updated so
First RESET bios to default and then
kindly download updated version of bios and burn it and update bios first and then try reinstalling OS
This really works
Thanks And Regards

Do a hard drive test or take it to local repair shop and get them to test it. I am about 98% sure it a bad hard drive, or you OS got deleted.

Replaced the hard drive, if its bad.

please rate my solution.

What is the error message? The CPUs will not overclock on there own, that requires configuration. Some components when not installed properly with cause the computer to boot to a black screen and the fan to speed up dramatically. I've seen memory sticks and display port cables cause this. Check all your hardware and make sure everything is seated properly.

Hi No video at all. I have power and can hear the HDD spinning and that is it. The screen is completely black. In fact, there is also no sound. Just a black screen. Any idea's?

Hi,
You did not mention the Motherboard type.

Check the bios setup upon starting( those words when you start up your comp. ), if that appears press F2 or Del( depends on Motherboard ). Set it to "default" and save and restart.
A long press of F8 upon starting will show the OS.
If no words shows up, just light blinking on upper left hand corner, the problem will be hardware( parts of the computer ), if you have no experience on repairing and testing the hardware better brig it to your nearest technician. because it will be a trial and error of parts... such as the PSU, memory, processor, video card, monitor and HD.. Just to point which part broke down.

Hope that helps you out!
thanks for asking FixYa!

Hi guys, I keep getting an error message that says: Stream reading error when I try to use the sony vaio recovery wizard. My computer is the sony vaio pcg-frv27 notebook. The first problem was that...

Try rebooting and hitting the F8 repeatedly as soon as the boot sequence starts. When it comes up to an options screen select repair. From there you can let windows try to repair or select to install to the factory settings.

Can u help pls

1) Hold the power button (slider) in the on position for about 15-20 seconds to force the player to turn off, if it's already on.

2) Hold the menu button down and simultaneously hold the power button (slider) to the on position.

3) Do not let go when the device turns on. You will then get a screen message in black and white that reads (with a typo):

WARRING !!!

NAND FLASH MEMORY INITIALIZE......

"WARRING !!!" will appear in red (and probably should read "WARNING". You will have the options of "No" and "Yes".

4) Choose "Yes" to re-format your device.

How do I configure external storage?

Had the same problem - but with older Insignia NS-DV2G. Didn't want to buy a new bigger 4GB. Salesman at Best Buy today said I just needed a Macro SC card. Sold me a 2 GB. CAme home - downloaded new tunes, loaded it up in the Card reader and synced. Computer said everything went to the card fine. Turned on the Insignia and got same error as you - "Unable to format external memory". Huh? Thought maybe the memory was too much at 2GB. Had a smaller 256 macro card on hand. Reloaded music on that and stuck that it in Insignia. Same error message. Googled the problem and found your posts. Thought I was doomed. Drove the 20 miles BACK to Best Buy (read a total of 80 miles for two round trips) and two guys couldn't figure it out. Called for a third guy to come over and he turned the dial, pushed the button and all the new songs were there! Just like that. How in the world.............

With macro card inserted:
Go to SETTINGS.
Scroll to SYSTEM
Click on INITIALIZE
Click on YES.

Poof!

At least it worked for me. Good Luck.
