Picture blacks out during segments of dvd play

this could be a fault of the player which is unable to read a portion of the disc or skipping.

  • First, inspect the disc for badly scratched or smudged areas and other defects or try another one. Clean the lens.
  • A mechanical fault is quite likely. These symptoms generally indicate that the coarse tracking servo is unable to properly move the pickup easily as it should - it is getting stuck and then either jumping back once the error is too great or breaking free and moving forward in spurts. Common problems include gummed up lubrication, dirt or other debris on the tracks or gears, damaged gear teeth, bad belt slipping, misaligned parts.

On most VCR's you can use the channel buttons to adjust the tracking. There's usually channel buttons on the front panel of the machine so you don't need a remote.

You have the RANDOM feature engaged. Look at the player and push the button under the word "RAND" off. The RAND is just that: random tracks.

You may have it set to random. There should be a button on there that lets you choose what you want like menu and such things like that. If that is not one of the options then enless you want to not hear your songs in order then you need to get a new one. If you can't find any of those buttons on there and you need more assistance please send me a message and I will be glad to try and help you out! Thanks!

Press the Channel up & down buttons at the same time and on most VCRs this deactivates auto tracking option. then press the up or down channel button to adjust tracking. You might try this first. pressing them both at same time reactvates auto tracking. This might not solve the problem but at least you eliminated one possibility.

    Creative MP3 - Tracks Jumping

Because there are no moving parts in thes units the only things which could cause the problem are either a drastic problem in the actual electronics or hopefully a problem with your power. If you unit takes an external power supply try it and if the problem goes away then it's your battery to blame. If it is the battery and it's built in check out the June 2006 issue of the Australian PC User. You can find it on line just do a Google. It gives instructions on how to swap the inbuilt battery yourself. BMW
