Web cam is not active

do you have install disk , if so install disk then plug in cam , no disk , computer will look for drivers , or go to cam website and download drivers , or install skype , plug in cam and prog will try to find it.

If the web camera came with an installation disk, use the disk to install drivers then plug the web camera in a USB port. The computer should recognize it. If it is properly recognized it will work with all applications that support a webcam (Skype, MSN, Google chat..) If it is not recognized and you do not have an installation software, you should go to the manufacturers web site to download appropriate drivers.

Try holdoing down FN (bottom left of your keyboard) with associated F button (top of your keyboard) For example : Hold FN and F5 down together and release together. The associated F button should have a picture of a camera on it.

ok, uninstall all related drivers to this camera,


Now using the supplied disk install the camera software but please do not connect the camera YET, if the camera is already connected,
remove the camera and reboot,

so you installed the camera software now plug the usb camera in, it will now detect the install camera software and work.

thats hard cause i have one too and according to my online research we have a web cam on our laptop but for some reason it wont connect and there isnt anything you can download from the internet yet wit windows 7

id your camera built in to your laptop.have the driver for your laptop camera been installed already? if still not install it...once its installed you can check if your cam it already available double click your my computer and you will see your camera icon.double click that one to activate

Its simple, you need to install the cam driver.

I havent use my webcam for a long time ... it is still working but I lost my intaller to start activating it again please help

have you tried to download vista drivers from their web site or any location that has drivers to download free if you have installed drivers unstall them and re-install put camera on the second usb port of pc when asks for camera. if all fails you need a web cam that is vista compatable. hope this helps
