I got a canon powershot a470 and i can't see the pictures cause i have windows 98. is there any where i can get drivers or something for windows 98 so i can download my pictures/??
Consider getting a card reader instead of a driver.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.
You do not need the disc. use "my computer" or a different program such as kodak easyshare or zoombrowser

windows should plug and play that camera with generic drivers-if not get memory card reader and download pics straight to comp w/reader and bypass camera

When connecting a digital camera to your computer with the usb connector, then turning it on the memory card in the camera becomes a removable drive under My Computer and will also bring up a dialogue window that will ask if you want to import pictures, etc. There is no need for a driver. Go to the menus and find the set to default option.
This should reset the menus and options to original.
Go to the menu section find a setting something like this... such as.. reset all to default or set to factory default or simply RESET.
Check to see if the pictures are saved to the card by taking a picture, then remove the card and play it back in either another camera or use a card reader to read the card.
If these tests shows that no picture was taken or it is all white, then the camera needs repair or has a ccd problem.
Another option is to call Canon Repair at the following page and use the 800 number for calling the repair department.
Canon has a trade-up or trade-in program which is a great way to get another camera at a good price. Canon will allow you to trade in your camera for a reasonable price against a refurbished camera plus a cost which is reasonable. A refurbished camera will come with everything it had when new, and will have been restored to original specifications.

I had this problem too, I think it's the shutter problem, it doesn't close
when a picture is taken, therefore, causing the over exposed photo...I've sent it back to canon, still waiting for the reply...
